hmmm, my version's not got a blip. i'm downloading that version you've linked now - cheers.

i've not really heard that much to be honest. i think this has been one of the least interesting years - certainly for finding anything completely new to me that i've enjoyed. got loads of old music, though, as usual! when i say least favourite it's because i'd expect to like them, but i kind of find myself hating them; whereas other albums that i don't like this year i wasn't expecting to like in the first place.

the version i downloaded a couple of weeks ago is m4a and the files are very big 10 - 14 mb each. i mean it's still mp3 at the end of the day, but it sounds good to me - or as good as legal mp3 download quality. i guess there must be some crappy versions floating around. anyway, it's a great album - so i'll be buying it on cd when it's released.

search google, or "atease.com" and you'll find it easily

Let's talk about the new Fiery Furnaces album
Synthesizer Patel replied to tongue-tied's topic in Someone Else's Song
i've had it for a while. it's nowhere near as good as the proper album, or wasn't the couple of listens i gave it, so i've never really tried to get into it too much. the proper album is one of my favourites of the year, though. edit: actually, what it's like is that Beck music club thing - the songs are all good, but you just end up thinking "i want to hear the proper version now." -

how many south africans are standing next to morgan freeman in this situation? anyway, my point is more to do with her lack of "anything to do with football" handicap more than anything else. it was just a bit weird seeing her there.

beckham could very well not even be on the pitch - hopefully not anyway, cos he's not likely to be in the starting eleven, and if he is on the pitch it'll probably mean we're struggling.
-
i didn't know that. but, that fact still doesn't make it that easy to understand.

why was charlize theron there? that was funny to see. good luck you americans! i'd imagine you're going to make it through the group stage, but i hope you allow us to beat you so we can top the group.

Your Top Films Of This Decade 2000-2009
Synthesizer Patel replied to u2roolz's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
What about if you're like me and you actually ARE COOL and you still think Infernal Affairs is better? The Departed is way way too long, and goes way off the original plot line for no great reason other than to make it different than the original - it's a great example of allowing the actors stature to dominate their screen time - Jack Nicholson should never have been in it as much as he was, no matter how good he can act. back to the main topic: how come ten years in film seems so much longer than ten years in music? or is it just me that feels this? top 15 off the top of my head, in no o -
Band Names That Make You Uncomfortable
Synthesizer Patel replied to So Long's topic in Someone Else's Song
what? that's the best damn thing about that band, and here is why: -
This guy is NUTS and I love him!
Synthesizer Patel replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'd say download this: Estudando o Samba Yeah, it's an illegal download, but it's well and truly out of print - so I don't see the problem. I don't know as much about his music as PopTodd, I know that this album is fantastic; and whilst it was recorded in the mid to late 1970s, it actually sounds like it could have been recorded this year. His first album (Tom Ze) is also really good - sorry can't find a link online - but, i've not really heard his more recent stuff. -

You can hate all you want............
Synthesizer Patel replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Someone Else's Song
why go to all that effort with the stage and location - (i do like the trampolines, but only if they stayed on them for the whole concert. did they?) - and then wear jeans and a t-shirt? it's just silly thinking at play again! -

you know, i'd never even heard of phish until i started posting on this forum. what exactly was supposed to be good about those lights again, other than the fact that they are bright? -
Ella Fitzgerald was mentioned in the second post of this thread; and I've not really seen any oddballs, unless you mean Nico? But, she's a very very well known oddball, with some pretty damn good albums too - making her a good artist worth mentioning.

i'm listening to it too. i didn't know he sounded so much like ryan adams, cos i've never heard him on record taking lead before. but, thankfully it's a good ryan adams. maybe this album would have been better with gillian welch taking lead and him singing back-up, but it's still pretty damn good the way it is.

that's been shown in the uk a while back. it's what the "mini documentaries" that are on the first batch of cds is culled from. it's quite interesting actually, but should have just been a tv show - cos when you split the clips up it's pretty minimal in detail.

If you like Animal Collective
Synthesizer Patel replied to chanman1128's topic in Someone Else's Song
good to hear them reminding people how much they've pissed over nearly every other band making music this year! it's great where a band reaches a point (no matter how brief) where everything they do just sounds effortlessly good and original. -
i haven't heard that. but, if it's mainly jamming & endless solos like super session, i don't think i'd like it. i do like shuggie otis alot though, so if it's not like that - i'd like it, i'm sure.
