  1. new covers ep from El Guincho (out in July or something). it's streaming for free here: here (the second here in blue, not the first here - that just says here, it doesn't go anywhere)
  2. i love it. i really wish dylan would put out a bootleg series from this period. but, i think if you, like me, love it too; you'll probably love All The Wild Horses as much as everything else on it.
  3. same here. i love all lou christie's music!
  4. i think mick hucknall is perfect for the role! the whole, "reunion" thing is bullshit anyway for every band, always. especially when the heart of the band (ronnie lane - i mean, it really was HIS band anyway) is dead. i can't see him being any worse than the modern rod stewart doing it.
  5. if it's the same thing as i saw on tv the other night, i wouldn't bother.
  6. you could try putting it on your turntable first
  7. don't worry about re-upping it just for one track. but, i will like to download this new one you've got finished. i think a thread with mixes of bands/people or even genres that people aren't too sure about would be great. someone should set it up. hint hint.
  8. cool. you just helped me find another one when you mentioned John Cale. i've got hobosapiensm, and never thought of rewinding that either. i need to start pressing rewind when i get a new cd!
  9. no, it really is corrupt. but, the links are a joke and are to some sketches from Big Train - where Hall & Oates are trying to clean up a council tower block estate. don't know if you've ever seen it - it's funny.
  10. shit! that is breaking news. you better not be fibbing about this - cos i'm gonna chec. why don't i know these sorts of things?
  11. that is definately the greatest hidden track ever. also the fact that i didn't even find it for a couple of years after i owned the cd meant that it truly was a hidden track!
  12. part 3 track 4 was corrupt or something, so it doesn't extract. great mix, though! maybe it's because of this? part 1 part 2 part 3
  13. yeah, i've got those, and i think they're fine - i wouldn't bother getting rid of them, but i've always felt exile needed remastering properly.
  14. yeah, actually i'm looking at the cd and it says Bob Ludwig did it, you're right - using something called UV22 Super CD Encoding, wow space-age! it's not very well done though.
  15. it was actually out of print on cd for quite a while, so i'd imagine to quite a few people this is a good thing it's come out, and not just a waste of time. i've only heard a v0 version of it, and it sounds a lot better than the one i've got from the 90s. which i don't think is remastered - and i also don't think the album ever has been remastered. they did everything up and including let it bleed in the early part of the century, but nothing else until recently.
  16. they aren't trying to make it sound like the original vinyl, they're trying to make it sound like the original master tape - i'd assume this is closer to that than the older cd's, probably closer than the original vinyl too. they are releasing it on vinyl too - although i think it's a fortune to buy. that'll be the way to compare the remaster in terms of vinyl, but i'd assume that the modern one is better just for the fact that mastering techniques have improved.
  17. well i don't have the original pressing or actually any pressing of that to compare. i've heard it, but can't remember how great i thought it was. but, i'd guess it depends on what sort of condition you've got your vinyl in. what i can say is that it's a massive improvement on the last cd version.
