Judah Bauer is really a hell of a guitarist.

Filter "Hey man nice shot" Oddly I don't think a "Hootie" song has been mentioned here. Or...maybe not so oddly .

Watched Juno on DVD for the first time. Enjoyed it just as mush this second time around. The outtakes and the screen tests are quite enjoyable.

A Thread for Musical Blasphemy you Truly Believe
jimmyjimmy replied to hardwood floor's topic in Someone Else's Song
I enjoyed this post immensely. I don't agree with most of it but enjoyed the spirit nonetheless. Except for the Weezer statement: If you were a candidate and this was one of your talking points I'd probably vote for you. -
Arrrgh! Damn it. I'll be in Calfiornia.

The latest Ryan Adams thread
jimmyjimmy replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
Damn...missed it. Never really poked around the blog much. Lust looked at a few things that were linked to it. I like these: and Mockingbird, Warlock and rotary dial. Kid's tastes run right up my alley. -
Right there w/you. Not a fan of either of those two. And your right, it shouldn't be primarily a vehicle for comedy. I always think of those shows (Pufinstuff, L.O.L. Sigmund the Seamonster) as having psychedelic overtones. But that's probably more telling of my own character rather than their content/style.

Could be lots of fun if Ferrell and Black don't end up spoiling it. "Sleestacks" !! (sp?)

I'd go with Pacino because of Dog day and The Panic in Needle Park. Greatest American films...wouldn't go that far, but they're great.

Scarlett Johansson "Anywhere I Lay My Head"
jimmyjimmy replied to RainDogToo's topic in Someone Else's Song
The track: Here. Part of me preferred the previously poster cover art. We wont discuss which part. I don't like this rendition of Anywhere either. That casio beginning turns me off like cold showers and episodes of the Golden Girls; (apologies to the Bea Aurthur fans here @ VC...I know there's a few of you out there). It evokes the hollow remorseful feeling that comes down on you when you realize you just waisted an hour and a half of your life watching a awful film. -
The latest Ryan Adams thread
jimmyjimmy replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
This is very cool really. It's clear that Ryan constantly needs to express himself and I can see where some folks can regard this sort of thing as him just seeking attention. I think it's more of a case of exercising demons and it being therapeutic. And I'm all for that sort of thing. -
Haven't listened to it yet. Sometime today probably. Like the artwork tho...in a darkened macabe sort of way...

I like it. Lots actually. Congrats. Just looking at that makes me want to get one... ...and run it through a highly overdriven amp just to hear what kind of whack-job sounds I could make with it. Of course I suggested to someone recently that she run an autoharp through an overdriven amp. So there's a bit of perspective for you. I should've bought this when I had the chance: clicky

I've mention that you are like, my hero, right? I haven't spun that record in two weeks. Shows great restraint on my part. Your not alone there. Think it gets properly released next week, which reminds me I have a call to make. NP: Duke Spirit: "Neptune".

And as far as manuals go, this may or may not help. Features guide Which is from.. here. The ipod classic manuals page. I don't think there's any content here that'll answer your questions, but hey. Couldn't hurt.
