If it's something along the lines of a new release your interested in try the Duke Spirits' "Neptune". It combines subtle melody and visceral performances. It's catchy as hell and the record is arranged in a way that keeps your attention from beginning to end. And BTW...Don't be shy, if you see unmarked artwork over in "Now Playing" that piques your interest just ask who the artist is and what's it like.

Kevin Costner and Modern West (Music Farm)

Because you were brave enough to dig in and find that little tid-bit, your reward is knowing I just spit coffee all over the monitor. -
Tks for that link. What fun.

No, not what Im saying. Just coming from the perspective of someone who understands how easy it is to fall back into old habits

Dude...a life on the road is an unhealthy life. It's totally understandable. If did what that man does for a living I'd weigh in at 250lbs and I'm six foot, 155lbs. And, although I'm trying not to be a total fan-boy, Danko/Manuel is far from average. On a separate note, I look forward to tomorrow night when I'll see the Truckers do their thing. I'm just glad to have the opportunity to see both of these bands live.

Vibes and best wishes. Be yourself, don't put on any pretense, relax and act natural. That's what I look for when I'm holding interviews. Good luck.

My obligatory Blazing Saddles contribution: [Jim downs a bottle of whiskey in one long guzzle] Bart: A man drink like that and he don't eat, he is going to DIE. Jim: .....When?

Was... Dark and slightly disturbing. Glasgow auctioneer discovers secret fetish of a deceased estate owner and becomes obsessed with the story surrounding a photograph. Good noir novel. Now. "We were crucified by the truth". Excellent stuff.

That's basically my sentiments also. I can't stand a huge hulking TV that's the size of a small couch.

Here's an interesting concept for those looking into low wattage Amps on the cheap. Build your own cool vintage amp. Damn thing sounds pretty amazing in the second youtube clip.
-
Not a fan. Played the old (50s-60s) versions (Les Paul Junior) and a modern one. I really wanted to like it BTW.... but it just left me cold. I think this will actually have you looking for a replacement pretty quickly. I dig small amps a lot....this one didn't move me at all.

Thanks C.T.K.

Very well said. Clarke as a writer probably did more to spark my interest as a child in books than any other author. He's always held a special place in my heart. There are very early editions of "Childhood's End", "The Sentinel" and "Songs of Distant Earth" on my desk at home: Now would be a good time to revisit them. R.I.P.

Dude, Tks. These are awesome.

No Depression and Harp Magazines

Andy Whitman's stuff is usually pretty solid. His is usually the first articles I gravitate towards. Just poking through Paste's latest edition last night and noticed they've changed the layout a bit. Not sure how I feel about that yet. I decided to forgo the "pay what you can" subscription incentive last year they offered since I actually look forward to picking it up at a local bookseller. Thinking that would also benefit the publisher in the long run... I'd hate to see Paste fail too. -
OK this is fun....

I'd like to give one a spin... Specifications are: Hand built from stem to stern (point to point wiring) Custom thick gauge aluminum chassis 2 6L6

Right. If you were racing against a buddy and you got to the bridge first you could cross slowly tipping it down and blocking him. He'd therefore have to reverse direction in order to continue on. I just checked ebay for the heck of it....nothing there.
-
Depressing a button on the top of the controller would change polarity in the circuit, causing the cars to "slide around" and reverse direction.

A "Whizzer" gun! Yikes. We bought a case of those, Senior year H.S. 50 or 75 per box....something like that. Handed them out at random between classes. Things got a little carried away as I recall (vaguely). I remember were perched two stories above a courtyard watching those little disks fly out from the balconies below. Kinda beautiful really. I think it was a two day suspension for that little infraction. EDIT: Remember back in the Eighties when you could buy fake novelty Major League Batting helmets? ( The gun made me think of K-Bee Toys, the toy store made me think of those helmets

This review is beautiful. Reminds me of the first time I saw 'em back in 03 at a little bar w/an upstairs music hall. I had never been so moved by a rock band...and haven't been since. -
These were a little different in the 70s; (can't find an image from that era). The little Hostess magician dude was still on the wrapper back them and they were not originally dipped in chocolate. Like the fruit pies they were plainly glazed on the outside but filled with chocolate puddding... (apparently vanilla too, tho I don't recall that).
