i'm coming from eastern massachusetts. haven't a clue where i'm staying, likely in pittsfield. can't wait!

saw this movie today. i think that it was a bit overdone. the opening was very long and boring, and only when leo and co. began to assemble their crew did i find myself interested. i think the story, while it initially seemed original, quickly felt reused and predictable. thus, the ending was a total flop for me. this movie reminded me a great deal of the first matrix movie, which i found to be far more entertaining. also, maybe i'm late coming to this realization, but dicaprio plays the same damn role in every movie. he's always chasing something or being chased. i don't understand the

funny you say that... i read it, then rented the movie, which i turned off after 30 minutes. read his follow up which is also very good- i think you'll like that one. it lacks the really eloquent prose that i loved about his first, but maintains that quirky postmodern style that foer is trying to reinvent. check it out!

third eye blind's s/t record came out in 1997. i still put that one on every now and then.

Pitchfork reports: Wilco Start Their Own Label? http://pitchfork.com/news/39387-wilco-start-their-own-label/ also, this is pretty neat... nels saying, "There might be a 7" or something, a little souvenir when we do this Mass MoCA."
-
that song is beautiful.
-
loved everything is illuminated... staring this now:
-
almost done with and have begun really enjoying both.
-
thanks for the link. for whatever it's worth, the article states: "the main stage where Wilco will perform Saturday night and Sunday afternoon is a grassy glade next to the train tracks. "

i hear ya... carter sure is fun to watch though. on a much "simpler" side is jim eno from spoon. after seeing them live, eno made me truly appreciate what a good drummer can do for a band. definitely felt like he was the powerhouse, supplying the band's momentum. britt must like him too, as i think he's the only other founding member still in the band. oh, and you've got to check out this clip of buddy rich, pretty ridiculous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaD54YcXpA
-
many don't like them, but the drummer from dave matthews band, carter beauford, is likely the best i've ever seen.
-
righto, all i do is complain. it's settled, you're a better fan than i am.
-
when a band like phish headlines their own festival, they play two full sets a day, each day of the festival... at least.. and louie b, if your comment was directed at me, you're misreading. i'm not bitching, just saying i think at least 2 wilco performances would be more appropriate than the 1+ solo acts. whatever, change of subject... should be wonderful, i've never been to mass moca before, and appreciate any excuse to hang out in western massachusetts!
-
i'm well aware, but i didn't pay for this service. instead, i paid for what i thought was going to be a weekend of wilco. for the record- i'm stoked to be going.... i'm just saying....
-
personally-- i think it's pretty weak to advertise a wilco festival, and then the band plays only 1 set. aside from seeing tweedy solo, the side projects don't really do anything for me. i suppose some of the other bands will be entertaining, but i'd trade it all for three days of wilco.

it was just posted on twitter that the final schedule is up. looks a little neater than it did yesterday, but i see no changes. http://solidsoundfestival.com/pages/schedule.php

am i the only one thinking of skipping friday? looks like i could save on a night at a hotel

wasn't there supposed to be some sort of announcement today?

Song titles with FULL proper names in them
knotgreen replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
cool as kim deal- dandy warhols -
for the record, the site now lists "jeff tweedy solo" which makes me SO VERY happy. hmmm... should probably book a hotel sooner or later.
-
bummer-- just catching the tail end. i'm the man who loves you, followed by kicking television. sounds good, though... wish i tuned in for the rest!
-
one performance is pretty weak, as far as i'm concerned. it's a three day festival, where they are the main attraction. i'll trade all side projects for 2 headlining sets. just my $.02.
-
I hope Wilco are playing more than just Saturday night.
-
but seriously.... why doesn't it say tweedy solo set?
