  1. i just want to say that this festival exceeded my expectations. the museum was incredible, and the musicianship was incredible. one of the highlights for me was simply the attitude of the fans at both the wilco and jt solo set. i've never felt more comfortable or more relaxed at a concert before. at sunday's show, my father had fallen on the way into the field and cut up his hand and knee. the kindness and concern shown by those around us was absolutely remarkable. if any of those individuals happen to be on here, i just want to thank you all once more! what a fantastic weekend. thanks w
  2. not sure if this has been posted, but there is a video of jeff and mavis on the amazon page for her new album: http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Alone-Mavis-Staples/dp/B003RDPYCG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1281964010&sr=1-5 my favorite part was mavis saying, "i don't know where tweedy been all my life!" definitely worth watching
  3. hoping that it will be on par with the 'evening with wilco' setlists...
  4. let me rephrase: how about a co-headlining tour
  5. a wilco/arcade fire tour would be epic. feel as though the two would compliment one another pretty nicely. anyone at wilco hq listening?!?
  6. album is def a grower. upon first listen i felt the same way you did, matt (the z). after repeated listening, i'm finding i enjoy it more than neon bible, a record i really enjoy. impossible to top funeral, but this album has some real gems. keep listening.
  7. that live set was incredible. so bummed i didn't make it out to see them!
  8. can't wait for the webcast from MSG tonight! 10pm eastern!!! http://www.youtube.com/ArcadeFireVEVO
  9. for me, his playing makes the performance.
  10. shucks, just called and it's not available! someone must have beat me to it!
  11. when i click "solid sound edition" on the site, it just takes me to the podcast page. even right clicking, there is no option to download file... hmmm, maybe still working out the bugs? anyone else having this issue?
  12. mahinty, that looks really great. i love that poster! the mat and frame really tie it all together. not that anyone is really that interested, but i had a poster from guster's 10 anniversary show in (hometown) boston, on halloween night, framed. bonus, the poster was halloween themed, so i stuck with that for the framing: my favorite part is that the mat itself is black, but the trim, which is usually white, is actually orange. without it, i don't think the piece would look nearly as nice as it does. anyway, hoping the poster from solid sound isn't too incredible, or else i'
  13. i'm coming from eastern massachusetts. haven't a clue where i'm staying, likely in pittsfield. can't wait!
  14. saw this movie today. i think that it was a bit overdone. the opening was very long and boring, and only when leo and co. began to assemble their crew did i find myself interested. i think the story, while it initially seemed original, quickly felt reused and predictable. thus, the ending was a total flop for me. this movie reminded me a great deal of the first matrix movie, which i found to be far more entertaining. also, maybe i'm late coming to this realization, but dicaprio plays the same damn role in every movie. he's always chasing something or being chased. i don't understand the
  15. funny you say that... i read it, then rented the movie, which i turned off after 30 minutes. read his follow up which is also very good- i think you'll like that one. it lacks the really eloquent prose that i loved about his first, but maintains that quirky postmodern style that foer is trying to reinvent. check it out!
  16. third eye blind's s/t record came out in 1997. i still put that one on every now and then.
  17. just tried to transcribe myself, hope i didn't butcher it too badly. feel free to adjust you're not alone, i'm with you, i'm going to what's that song that can't be sung by tune? a broken home, a broken heart, isolated and afraid open up this is a raid i want to get it through to you you're not alone you're not alone every night i stand in your place every tear on every face tastes the same a broken dream, a broken heart, isolated and afraid open up this is a raid i'm gonna get it through to you you're not alone an open hand, an open heart there's no need to be afraid open up this is
  18. Pitchfork reports: Wilco Start Their Own Label? http://pitchfork.com/news/39387-wilco-start-their-own-label/ also, this is pretty neat... nels saying, "There might be a 7" or something, a little souvenir when we do this Mass MoCA."
  19. loved everything is illuminated... staring this now:
  20. almost done with and have begun really enjoying both.
  21. thanks for the link. for whatever it's worth, the article states: "the main stage where Wilco will perform Saturday night and Sunday afternoon is a grassy glade next to the train tracks. "
  22. i hear ya... carter sure is fun to watch though. on a much "simpler" side is jim eno from spoon. after seeing them live, eno made me truly appreciate what a good drummer can do for a band. definitely felt like he was the powerhouse, supplying the band's momentum. britt must like him too, as i think he's the only other founding member still in the band. oh, and you've got to check out this clip of buddy rich, pretty ridiculous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgaD54YcXpA
  23. many don't like them, but the drummer from dave matthews band, carter beauford, is likely the best i've ever seen.
  24. righto, all i do is complain. it's settled, you're a better fan than i am.
