his voice, if anything, has improved. a couple things that really shocked/impressed me: how attentive & respectful the audience was and how well those songs translate to just vocals & guitar. i said it over on the elephant 6 board too, but i'll repeat here... i was so impressed that he came out for the 2nd encore. i guess i was under the impression that he was a sort of cranky guy who was going to come out, mumble a few things, play, and walk off. instead he seemed really genuinely happy and appreciative. he thanked the audience a million times! what an incredible show! definitel

A 1st attempt at 'Sunday Morning' lyrics: This is how I tell it, oh but it’s long One Sunday Morning, oh the sun is gone (?? Silhouette dawning), over the sea My father said what I had become, no one should be Outside I look lived in, like the -- in a shrine How am I forgiven? Oh I get time This I learned without warning, Holding my brow In time you thought I would kill him Oh but I didn’t know how I said it’s your god I don’t believe in No, your bible can’t be true Knocked down by the limelight He cried I fear what’s for you I can hear those bells Spoken at dawn I feel relief,

Got a pair for night #1 at the Ryman. Sec 1, Row P. I'm not stoked about my tickets either night, but maybe I'm just being greedy. Either way, it's time to book airfare/ hotel!

Ha! That was quite an experience-- I wouldn't have had it any other way! Are you guys making the trip up to Boston? I think we're only doing Boston and Nashville. I'm very excited. I'm sure I'll be seeing you! T

Boston, Pit 4 on the aisle. Trying for Nashville in an hour!

Aren't the shows usually listed on frontgate by now? I feel like this presale is going to be tougher than usual...
-

I also stayed at the Williamstown Motel. The communication between the owner and I before our stay was very strange. I think he was worried that we weren't going to show up (and he also realized he could make more $$ b/c of the high demand). Regardless, he was very kind when we arrived and the room was just fine. My father and I had a great time again this year. I want to say thanks to the many people near us on Saturday (up front, centerish) that not only made the rain tolerable, but turned the whole ordeal into a really entertaining/ pleasant experience. I'm really not a festival person, b

the track that jeff was playing solo, 'born to die alone', sounds soooooooo good with the full band. i never thought that that quiet acoustic number could become something so.... so wilco. it's great. and i think there were 3 new ones.... i might, whole love, and born to die alone.
-
i think we heard the title track tonight at solid sound. good, but i don't think it's the strongest of the new ones.

wilco tweet: "is rehearsing new material at an undisclosed location in Western New England today."

So.... Joe's field opens when the venue opens. I've got mixed feelings about this. It seems crazy to sit there all day, and unfair to put a chair down to reserve a spot. Speaking hypothetically... is it fair to assume that people won't congregate until the usual 1-2hrs before showtime? What is nice is that there won't be that mad dash to the front. That was dangerous last year.
