  1. i can't decide which i like more, the "wilcokcupid" post or this one.
  2. Joe Pug tonight! Saw Mike Birbiglia last night, for what was one of the funniest stand up sets I've ever seen. If you have the time, check out his special "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" on Netflix.
  3. I guess I just have more tolerance for a bad Wilco song when hearing Jeff play it solo. An example: I never liked One Wing, and then when I saw him play it solo I fell in love with it. As far as I'm concerned, the middle part of The Whole Love feels like filler-- all songs on par with Open Mind.
  4. Would rather that VS another Wilco album full of songs like Open Mind.
  5. they're so great live. the national might be my current favorite band.
  6. Woah. They're back! With a new album and a little tour. I really like the new song, Destination:
  7. I stayed there for SSF2 and it was nice. Last year they wanted us to pay in full ~6 months or so before staying with them. This was enough for me to cancel and find a place elsewhere. For whatever it's worth, finding lodging
  8. such a late show, and i'm already tired... i take it cvb is on first?
  9. seriously. i had no idea cracker/cvb was playing at the mid east tonight. i'm 26 and the 8pm doors might be the only thing that keeps me from going.
  10. Mountain Jam looks good, but maybe too festival-y for me. There's something about Newport and Solid Sound that feel more relaxed. NFF is likely, but damn are those 3-day passes expensive!
  11. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on NFF... I wish they'd release a few of the artists!
  12. Ben Sollee and The Wood Brothers
  13. Thanks, Bbop, I was wracking my brain trying to come up with the setlist. A couple of things I wanted to mention: I was really impressed with how nice Jeff's voice sounded tonight. He may have goofed on some lyrics here and there, but I thought he sounded about as nice as I've ever heard him.I was thankful that the crowd was well behaved. After my experience at the Boulder Theatre a few years ago, I anticipated a lot of talking. I'm not sure if it's a northeast thing, or if Denver an anomaly... But doesn't the crowd usually sing most of Jesus Etc? I don't recall a time where Jeff was at the m
  14. How was it? I'm bummed I didn't make it to NYC for those shows. I suppose the sliver lining is that I saved myself a bunch of $$.
  15. Later, when the name of the late Jay Bennett, a former bandmate, was invoked, Tweedy responded: “He was my friend. Was he your friend? ... He would have hated you.” I'm curious as to what the context is for this comment? Looks like a great set, I can't wait for Denver.
  16. Nate Duval has made the poster/ shirt for the tour. Check it out on his Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/nateduvaldotcom
  17. NPR is now streaming Songs: Ohia's Magnolia Electric Co. (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) and I can't stop listening to the demos. Particularly the demo of Farewell Transmission, the song that turned me on to Jason Molina's music. Check it out: http://www.npr.org/2013/11/03/242103002/first-listen-songs-ohia-magnolia-electric-co-10th-anniversary-deluxe-edition?utm_source=music&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=20131103
  18. This is me peer pressuring you to make the trip!
  19. She was really entertaining. I don't know if I enjoyed her banter or music more... Either way, thinking of going to her show in Harvard Square on the 17th.
  20. Amazing show! The crowd seemed really into to it (though I was hoping we'd stay standing for the encores). She and Kelly work so well together. Only bummer was not hearing Local Girl. Love those harmonies.
