  1. I'd never want to wish the pain and misery that divorce must bring onto someone.... but if this experience means we get another Heartbreaker.... But seriously, DRA is pumping out new material at an alarming rate as of lately. Wish he'd just have some sort of subscription for all of the 7"s that he's been putting out. It's been getting expensive!
  2. If anyone has any leads on nearby hotels, please do share! I had great luck for the last festival and got a room in Bennington, VT a month or two before the festival. No such luck this year! Everything I'm finding is about a 45 minute drive from Mass MoCa. Hope to get something before any lineup announcement, as I'd imagine that this is only going to get more and more difficult.
  3. Saw Guster perform 3 pop up shows around Boston yesterday. It was awesome. Maybe seeing Cracker tonight.
  4. Ahh that's right! It was nice meeting you! Should they invite a bunch of artists I like I might consider attending for a day. It's expensive and way more of a hassle than SSF, even though it's closer geographically for me. Also, I'm guessing Wilco won't be there so there isn't that incentive. TP: Jack White is pretty far off the beaten folk path, no?
  5. I went to NFF last year to see TWEEDY, but the highlight of the trip was definitely The Wakins Family Hour show that we saw that evening. I still talk about that show to anyone who will listen. What a night! Not sure if I'll return to NFF this year. Maybe I'll buy a single Saturday ticket and hope for the best.
  6. I've been a big Joe Pug fan for a long time, and have been looking forward to his new release next year. Rolling Stone just posted a new track which features Pat Sansone! Maybe this means we will see Joe at SSF this summer?! http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/hear-joe-pugs-inspirational-if-still-it-cant-be-found-featuring-wilcos-pat-sansone-20141217
  7. HT doesn't make it to southern VT, I have a hard time imagining Alchemist selling it at SSF! Bring that Lawson's & HF though & maybe we can have a little bottle share.
  8. This was so much fun to look through. I'm feeling so nostalgic.
  9. i will give that one a listen. yes, he was solo, opening for vetiver.
  10. With all do respect, I sincerely hope that I never have to sit through another Dredd Foole set. Once was one time too many.
  11. In for a pair of early birds. $270.75 after delivery and all other fees.
  12. Hoping this year they don't allow people to set up camp on the field and then leave for the day. Oops... is it too early to start complaining?
  13. Early Bird 3-day passes on sale Friday, 12/05 @ 10AM EST! $124 is the early bird price, and $50 for kids passes.
  14. Louis CK was incredible. I saw one of the Symphony Hall shows the last time he was here, and last night was better. He was obviously working out some new material, but it was all very funny. Even when he's only "okay" he's better than most. I've purchased his specials and tickets from his site, and I didn't get the email about the show. I happened to see a Boston.com tweet about the shows and got in quickly for orchestra seats for the early show.
  15. Got super lucky and scored tickets to see Louis CK tonight at a pretty tiny venue down the street from my house. Hoping he's "home" to work out some new material.
  16. Any advice for parking near HOB but not in that lot on Landsdowne? Really hate taking the T home after a HOB show. Also -- see you guys there! I took my Wilco beanie out of storage today, so I'll be wearing it. Was pretty reluctant to break out the winter apparel, but am glad that I did!
  17. During any quiet moment someone would yell "c'mon" or "play!" or something else to that effect. He'd get irritated because he "just played 13 songs in 48 minutes." While he was cursing at anyone who yelled at him, he didn't seem genuinely pissed... Which was good. I thought he was amazing. My only criticism of his set was that the pacing felt very strange. By the end of the set I was ready for it to be over. He played great songs, and the band was tight, but we lost some momentum at crucial points. Butch Walker could be the worst lyricist of all time. He has a nice voice, but man... tough
  18. Same here. Pretty excited about it!
  19. That's a good price (considering what it's going for elsewhere)-- think I might preorder from Oldies too. Thanks for the heads up!
