Well... Ryan Adams was added to Friday. EDIT: just bought tickets. I haven't been this excited for a show in a long time. Is it too early to start a NFF thread? -

Oh man... It was announced that Ryan Adams will play XPoNential Music Festival on 7/26 in Philly. He could turn up at NFF on Friday or Sunday... My excitement for a RA addition will rival my excitement for the Tweedy announcement. Suppose I'd have to buy Friday tickets too... -
It's part of the Lowell Summer Music Series!

Has anyone seen the new documentary, Mistaken For Strangers? I watched tonight and really loved it. It's a hilarious, heartbreaking, and really endearing documentary about the Berninger brothers. I highly recommend checking it out, even if you're not into the National.

i didn't sense that at all. i've given isbell a listen in the past, and didn't enjoy him much. i did, however, enjoy the interview quite a bit, especially the song he played at the end. i'm thinking i need to give him another shot.

Pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this one more than Moonrise Kingdom. For those that have seen it: what did you think of WA's use of the aspect ratio? On paper it sounded gimmicky, but I thought it worked really well.

I like it. It's tough keeping track of on sale dates & presales. Such a thread could be a good resource! Tonight I'm seeing Gregory Alan Isakov & Josh Ritter!

I want to go to a Jeff Tweedy/ Colin Meloy show in Pawnee.

i can't decide which i like more, the "wilcokcupid" post or this one.

Joe Pug tonight! Saw Mike Birbiglia last night, for what was one of the funniest stand up sets I've ever seen. If you have the time, check out his special "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" on Netflix.

I guess I just have more tolerance for a bad Wilco song when hearing Jeff play it solo. An example: I never liked One Wing, and then when I saw him play it solo I fell in love with it. As far as I'm concerned, the middle part of The Whole Love feels like filler-- all songs on par with Open Mind.
-
Would rather that VS another Wilco album full of songs like Open Mind.
-
they're so great live. the national might be my current favorite band.
-
Woah. They're back! With a new album and a little tour. I really like the new song, Destination:

I stayed there for SSF2 and it was nice. Last year they wanted us to pay in full ~6 months or so before staying with them. This was enough for me to cancel and find a place elsewhere. For whatever it's worth, finding lodging

sounds like bad elliott smith songs.
-
such a late show, and i'm already tired... i take it cvb is on first?
-
seriously. i had no idea cracker/cvb was playing at the mid east tonight. i'm 26 and the 8pm doors might be the only thing that keeps me from going.

Mountain Jam looks good, but maybe too festival-y for me. There's something about Newport and Solid Sound that feel more relaxed. NFF is likely, but damn are those 3-day passes expensive!
-
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on NFF... I wish they'd release a few of the artists!
-
thanks for that.
