  1. "This is really no different than a middle school lunchroom, for btter or for worse." Actually it is. Running your mouth in the lunchroom can get you punched in the face.
  2. Are we talking the original Paul who everyone knows died in 1966 or the current imposter Paul?
  3. Although there are probably at least 5 people on Via Chicago that would argue with me for the sake of arguing, it is physically impossible to choke a horse with Jackson Browne influence. That being said if you could choke a horse with Jackson Browne influence this album would do it.
  4. Yeah at about as cool of an outdoor venue as there is. It was tremendous. I love Bright Eyes but had no idea they would be so great live. Two drummers for most of the show,organs,keys,horns,...they were extremly tight. 24 songs!
  5. Dawes/Bright Eyes last night in Louisville, need I really say more?
  6. Every once in a while I'll spring for packaging but typically I buy records to listen to. I thought this record was going to be epic so I bit on the newspaper gimmick. I seriously can't see myself wanting to throw KoL on the turntable.
  7. THANK YOU!!!!!!! By the way I've got an unopened King of Limbs collector, newspaper, big deal, blah bla blah bla bla vinyl that is going to remain unopened until I sell it and somebody else opens it. Set your DVR's. Storytellers tonight 11 EST.
  8. That makes since. I was confused by Tay's absence considering everywhere I've looked his status is active member. Hopefully he gets things straightened out becuase he makes the live shows for me. Not to get too douchy with the name dropping but I've had a chance to say hi and ask a few clich stupid questions to these guys because both shows I've seen were at pretty quaint settings. They are all pretty laid back, quiet guys but Tay looks so timid and shy away from the keys its almost uncomfortable...condidering the personal reasons maybe its just because he's just really fucked up on something.
  9. Anyone know when the Paste session was taped? They seem to be rotating keyboardist at a rapid rate. Correct me if I'm wrong but Tay Straithairn was not their original keys player but played on North Hills and is not present in this taping but is the current player as of Feb. 11'. I'm confused.
  10. I showed this to a friend of mine who happens to be a psychiatrist. She evaluated it and said she believes it a pretty classic example of what mental health professionals call "fucking with people". She said there is probably nothing to worry about and we could all relax.
  11. I quit years ago and still have times where I'm almost drooling thinking of a smoke. Other times I'll see someone smoking and find it utterly disgusting. Nicotine is a bitch. I still smoke(inhale) an occasional cigar so I guess I'm a cheater but it beats 2 packs of reds a day. I quit gradually by cutting my intake in half over long periods of time and never surpassing that amount from that point on. It took me months but eventually I was reduced to carrying one cigarette around all day waiting for the peak moment and I started to feel like a crack head. Nothing says you have to stop something
  12. I'm loving this new record, it's all over the map creatively and I like that.
  13. I gotta go Deer Tick mostly due to the Middle Brother album which technically isn't Deer Tick so feel free to disregard my vote although you should still be persuaded by it.
  14. I wasn't baiting. It just amazes me sometimes how some people can turn any situation into America bashing. Obviously everyone would prefer special ops type raids opposed to killing thousands but the bottom line is you don't go from the initial offense to special ops mode. This operations was made possible by intense interrogation(torture) which was made possible by the capture and surrender of Al Qaeda higher ups which was made possible by the rampant bombings and invasion of Afghanistan.
  15. Oh I was definitely dissapointed by your initial lack of response. What I got from your comment was motive aside Bin Laden is not as evil as America cause he killed less statistically. Did I misconstrue?
  16. Nap...hello, I know you love to argue...no comment or what?
  17. How many would he have killed with resources equal to America.
  18. Conspiracies ignite. This was clearly another orchestrated jab at Donald Trump. Ten years go by and they do this shit right before that Amazon chick was about to beat the shit out of Star Jones on The Apprentice. Lesson learned here was don't mess with Obama if your dependant on network tv.
  19. So did your live experiences with Highly Suspicous lean more towards goofy or bad ass. In between is not an acceptable answer.
  20. Highly Suspicious is a highlight of a Jacket live show. Its far from goofy when those guys are on stage killin it. I've actually always thought the tune was rather spooky myself. Just wondering if anybody who considers it goofy has seen it performed live?
  21. Its called evolving and bands are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
  22. see ya there!!I'll throw on my Wilco shirt so you know it's me.
  23. I'd have to say my all time favorite was Pearl Jam's Yellowledbetter. Joe Cocker is a close second.
  24. This is going to be friggin awesome. Jim is a nut and I can't wait to get some explanations. If the link below doesn't do it for ya you might want to check your musical pulse. http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=1661840
