I know there is nothing more boring than having to hear about someone else's dream but the night after I made the post above I have a dream that I'm at work and get a call from Rod Stewart and he's blasting me for the content of my post and telling me I don't know the record industry. If thats not weird enough I remember "dream me" thinking does Rod Stewart frequent Via Chicago? I guess no more bad mouthin Rod(the sandman) Stewart.

This is the best bourbon out there in the $30.00 range by far IMKBO(in my Kentucky boy opinion). I would say it give a lot of the sixty and eighty dollar shit a run for it's money as well. I have a bottle that we/I got for a wedding gift that will be turning 22 years old this May. If I ever decide to crack it I'll let you guys know.

What isn't fucked up about that cd cover. You got what appears to be a random picture of Rod pasted from TMZ's website and a Cher/Carmen Sandiego pic, both of which encased in that classy dollar store picture frame look, the title, the wording, hell even the font screams cheesy. This is a Cracker Barrel cd if I've ever seen one.

Looks like Into the Wild is going to be re-released on vinyl for those of us that missed it the first time. Great soundtrack to an even better movie. I pre-ordered through Aural Exploits, should be shipped on Sept. 28th. They have one hell of a library at pretty food prices. Picked up The Shins "Chutes Too Narrow" for $12.95 while I was there.

This list is hilarious. Should be re-titled "Top 200 Songs of the 90's in an Obscurely Sexy Order". I considered myself pretty familiar with 90's music being a teen through most of the decade but apparently I'm not so familiar. I had never even heard the #12 song or even the artist but after listening it's pretty clear that was one of the best song of an entire decade.

Hope so. Right now fourty bucks is the cheapest I've seen.

Anybody read the Rolling Stone piece on Ray Kurzweil, Feb. 2009. Pretty interesting/scary? -
Thats by far the cheapest I've seen that album by a little more than twenty bucks. Might be too good to be true. I keep getting redirected to a non-Minus 5 page every time I click teh "buy" icon for Down With Wilco...maybe their sold out?
-
Seriously, what would VC do without this guy? Oh by the way, sold out now.

No love for Robert Earl Keen? That sounds like a fun hour of tunes to me.

What blew me was a suicide attempt from 20 feet. This is not the Golden Gate Bridge here, were talking a little higher than my garage. Thats basically the equivalnt of six Advil and a half a Zima. His suicide attempt could have very easily turned into breaking his wrist, looking like a drunk, and back in time for the closing act. Selfish, inconsiderate, irrational, poorly planned.

Whats your favorite "fuck you" song?
sonicshoulder replied to junkbond_trader's topic in Someone Else's Song
Soundgarden's "Big Dumb Sex" is more of a literal fuck you but a fuck you song non the less. I'll never forget painting my dining room with the help of my mother-in-law when it came on the Sirius radio grunge station a few years ago. Top 10 awkward moments. -
Great news.Unfortunately for me I didn't discover "un-soundtrack" Randy until Bad Love which I thought was phenoeinal. I was 19 when it came out and I remember throwin it on in between my lame ass friends Limp Bizkit and Deftones tracks and them saying "what the fuck are we listening to". There's not a topic or lyric he's afraid of, he just does it in such a beautiful, classic way it appears harmless.

SARATOGA, Calif. (AP) — A man jumped at least 20 feet to his death onto the stage of a Northern California concert in front of hundreds of horrified music fans, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said Friday. The Swell Season was playing an outdoor show at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga in front of a crowd of about 1,900 when the jump happened Thursday night. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Rick Sung says authorities are treating the death as a suicide. Sung said the man's identity will not be released. Sung says the man left a friend in the audience around 10 p.m. and soon appeared on a ro

Just saw them in July at Riverbend in Cincinnati which in my opinion is one of the worst live venues in the counrty but 10 minutes from the house. They sounded amazing which doesn't happen at Riverbend, or as I affectionately call it Reverb-bend.

There are certain artist with distinct voices who's songs sound awkward for lack of a better word when covered. For me Dylan's covers sound alot more natural. Almost like they were made to be covered. Maybe its because he is the greatest song writer of all time. I've heard Neil Young covers that almost made me vomit, then I hear a Dylan cover and alot of times think "yeah, that sounds pretty good"

Absolutely love Senor by Willie and Calexico. What would you guys say if I said I know a guy...lets call him Bob, and he prefers most of Dylans songs when sung by others? Would his opinion still be considered around here?

I'm not a KISS fan but that is absolutely awesome.

Could be the makings of a fun music world feud...

Sounds like the ex-drunks who will preach there is no such thing as a casual drink because there wasn't for them. I'm not saying Gaga will but some people do practice moderation, you just don't hear about it because you usually don't bitch slap a male escort while practicing moderation. -
If they are going to name the baby Clare or Claire I think "Long Time Ago" by Golden Smog would be more than appropriate. Then there is always Cracker's "Guarded By Monkeys".

Nothing like a good afternoon cookout, feelin good with the family and friends and here comes..."his father was a drinker..." Yeah, its off my random too!! Definitely a great tune though.
