The tracklist for the new Made In California boxset: (At first glance, I'd say this is made up of tracks from the Good Vibrations: Thirty Years Of The Beach Boys boxset, and some of the other vault releases that have came out since then.)

You should get Workingman's Dead and American Beauty. If you still buy cds, get the last re-masters. They sound great.

You can find various versions of it on Youtube. I got it off a torrent site several years ago.

It's also nice to see people not covered in tattoos and piercings. The good old days.

Either they jumped the gun on a press release, or the GD have nothing to do with the release. I guess we'll see at some point. Ok - I just got an email from Dead.net about this. That clip is amazing. It's definitely not from the circulating video tape source.

I'd say that is mostly Mick's doing. He seems to keep current, and wants to know about who's big at the moment. I never heard a Taylor Swift song until recently. I don't get it, but that's how it goes.

They always say all sorts of stuff. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

A bit of news about the new album from Rolling Stone.com:

Check this out: Dan Harmon Is Officially Returning To 'Community' I was surprised to see Community coming back, and now Harmon is coming back.

Official Doctor Who discussion thread

I wonder why Helen Mirren would want the job? That makes no sense to me. Ben Whishaw seems like a good fit. -

I suppose Benedict Cumberbatch is out, but still, that is who I would like to see as the doctor. -
I was surprised to learn they have been doing . That's probably my favorite Keith song.

I know someone who has a very early pressing of the album - it has different song titles listed. I've always liked that album, but it sounds bad. Maybe the remastering will help with that problem. I'd like to have the four disc version - although I don't know that I am willing to spend 50 bucks on cds anymore.

I am "friends" on Facebook with a certain person who was in Jim's life that Ray often dismissed. She posted something positive about him when she learned of his passing. I thought that was pretty cool.

This is a nice interview with Ray:

I think there are some quotes about it at that link. I believe they went there, looked around, and that was the end of it.

He's in the Beatles documentary. I forget where exactly, but I think Ringo tells a few stories about him. He is also the reason they almost bought that island in Greece. Alexis Mardas

I think there's a George Harrison quote out there somewhere - possibly in that Rolling Stone issue devoted to his guitar collection - where he talks about such things. I think he said something like "I see guitars I may have held for 30 seconds being sold as a Beatles guitar by someone I don't know for lots of money". Magic Alex was quite the con man.

I don't recall seeing it in the Beatles gear book. (It is in the book - page 209. It's called a Kensington.)

There is a Who version of that song - but it is nowhere near as powerful as the demo. The sound on that recording is simply amazing.- 4 replies

My favorite Beatles movie: Help! Comes to Blu-Ray (I have to wonder why Billboard used a Sgt. Pepper photo instead of a Help! era photo.)
