Yes, I have been saying that off and on for years. -

I think that is what it partly comes down to - the money issue. Also, when some people appear to be closer to the person in question than than you are, and you want that closeness but can't have it, you may get upset. To be honest, I use to be one of the people jabbing. But, I let go of that some time ago. I've met Jeff, and talked to him, and I have seen him play solo, as well as, seen the band several times. That's good enough for me. Is it a different deal if the dude is playing in your living room? I am sure it is. But - I just don't think it's worth getting jacked up over anymore. I so -
Thank you for posting the information.

The latest Ryan Adams thread
Analogman replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
There's a post at The Ryan Adams Archive that list a whole bunch of websites that he posts stuff on. I think I checked them the other day - and there was nothing new. I think he has been mainly making Youtube videos, and working on his new book coming out. I guess this is recent: ryanada.ms I found the post - here they are: http://ryanada.ms/ http://werewolph.com/ http://sleazyhandshake.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/dradamsfilms http://twitter.com/ryanada_ms http://twt.fm/ryanada_ms http://www.facebook.com/ryanadams http://www.myspace.com/ryanadams http://twitpic.com/photos/ryan -

Dudes, we have been down this road before. Your jabbing is going to turn into people giving you hell, and then, more jabbing from you. Why don't you just drop it and move on? If you have the bread, you can try and get in on a LRS group next time, or, if you dislike the whole idea of the LRS, you can just let it go and don't worry about it. -
I saw this on Digg this morning. It sounds like a Radiohead song, sort of.

Hopefully, someone gives us something official - that can be added to the language the we see under Wilco's listing on various BT sites. Personally, I am more worried about the people who keep posting AUD video in the After The Show section, when it has been stated not to do so. -

I think you are talking about something different than what is going down. It's a different deal than what is covered in their taping policy - the problem is, there was/is no language about the so-called living shows, and therefore, at some point they were put out there for everyone to grab. As we see now, that was done in error. We are taking steps to correct that, and we are still being allowed to tape and share regular Jeff/Wilco shows. I seek and work on collecting Wilco shows almost everyday, and now have over 300 GB of Wilco shows, and I can tell you that this the first time we have bee -

To be clear, we are talking about a private show, so to speak, not a regular live show where anyone can buy a ticket and see the band. I think we should just let it go and move on. There are hundreds of Jeff/Wilco shows out there for people to grab and listen to, so it does not seem like such a big deal to me that a few were removed by request. I believe part of the GD SBD deal had to do with the band and their management team gearing up to sell copies of all the soundboard tapes. And, sort of like what we have going on here, they were only removed from Archive.org. Actually, they were not -
Drowning Man - I never know if I like this song or not. I have always thought it was sort of clunky. Since The Unforgettable Fire is my favorite U2 album, I don't have anything negative to say about them playing the title song. I was listening to the new album the other night. I like the song Moment Of Surrender.

I think all the bands allowed at say Dime A Dozen for example, have some sort of clause with regards to what is allowed and what is not. Here is what the statement is regarding Wilco shows: -

It may be wishful thinking, but the more I think about it, I swear there was a thread that contained discussion with regards to it being ok for the shows to be put out there. -

The statement regarding what's allowed with regards to Jeff/Wilco shows at places such as Dime a Dozen, bt.etree, etc. will have to be amended. It will have to be something official, I believe - not something written by a fan or message board moderator. -

Thank you for posting. I suppose there must be a post about how and why they came to be distributed. I have a feeling that like most things, they ended up online at some point, and then they spread from there. Following that, I suppose whoever posted all the shows since the first one that made it online have assumed it was alright to do so. What do we need to do to straighten this out? -

I don't recall when they started to appear on various BT sites, but is must have been after the approval was given for the shows to be shared. We have the following at The Wilco Archive: January 14, 2006 (Letters to Santa Show) April 8, 2006 (Letters to Santa Show) February 24, 2007 (Letters to Santa Show) March 3, 2007 (Letters to Santa Show) January 12, 2008 (Letters to Santa Show) April 5, 2008 (Letters to Santa Show) The most recent LRS to appear is 2009-02-07. It was posted at bt.etree.org on 5-22-2009. -

1. I don't think it is a good idea to spread around edited versions of any shows, let alone the living room shows. It will get confusing to those who end up with them. And, it muddies the trading pool. 2. I believe part of what people like about these shows is the banter. 3. It is my experience that most tapers ask that the shows they tape not be spread around in a lossy format. 4. It is my understanding that the powers that be signed off on the shows being shared with the public a couple of years ago. 5. Once something is online in one place, it is going to end up everywhere. 6. What anyone d -
I have the first few issues up through the early 90s - when Bob Guccione Jr. was running the show. I think I stopped reading Spin the year before Wilco started.

There are many imitations and reproductions out there now, so be careful. Of course, an original is going to cost you a small fortune. You should check out Wolfgang's Vault, and/or the official Led Zeppelin website.
