The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)
Analogman replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
They often have those deals - to get people to go there and buy it, I suppose. I wonder if the store here where I live will actually have a copy. -
Try this - although, I don't know if the downloads still work or not. I never messed with the Sunken Treasure stuff. Looking For The Following?: Yankee Foxtrot Hotel - More Like The Moon EP A Ghost Is Born - Bonus EP Sunken Treasure (DVD) - Audio Download Sky Blue Sky - Bonus EP Download from Wilcoworld - Registration Required.

I sort of forgot this was coming out on July 7th. Amazon.com has a page for it: Music from the North Country: The Jayhawks Anthology(Deluxe Edition) There is a video of Settled Down Like Rain from Chicago show in 1993 at the above link. -
Anyone have any Okkervil River sets/pics?
Analogman replied to TemplePilot's topic in After The Show
I don't how active it is, but there is a Okkervil River message board. I don't often see torrents of bands that open for Wilco. There are some Okkervil River torrents up at Dime A Dozen. So they must be cool with people taping their shows. -
I went through that with a Son Volt cd. I hope this isn't going to happen with Wilco. I am curious to know if other people are experiencing this. I see two people have mentioned it so far. According to Amazon, I will get my cd tomorrow. I think this is the first Wilco cd that I have not picked up the day of release or soon after. I suppose that is the way it goes these days.

Neil recently did Burned - which I think is pretty cool. I can't say I care for his version of A Day In The Life. I suppose I am just to use to hearing the actual studio take of it.

So does this mean we get more beatles stuff now?

If you go by the Purple Chick releases, there is a ton of stuff to be had. -
And if she was say, 16, a lot of people would say that is ok. And to go even beyond that - why is it when a female teacher is busted messing with a student her sentencing is typically lighter than when a male teacher gets busted for messing with a student. And also - do religious figures who do this sort of thing usually go to jail - or is it simply a matter of a pay-off. I think it always comes down to how much power/money a person has.
-
I suppose that depends on a person's culture, country of origin, or religious cult membership. And for some, how much money/power they have, and what they can get away with doing.

He was not the only one. And of course, now we are on a different trip.

Another story you don't here much about - just like when Elvis first met Priscilla. It was not overlooked for Jerry Lee, though.

I should give an example of a song I think is good: Never Can Say Goodbye (studio version) Now, there is another version of this on Youtube from their (Jackson Five) variety show - it's just not the same vibe. Also - here is a bit of the cartoon for those who never saw it: The Love You Save (from the Jackson Five cartoon show)

I could never get into that music. As I already said, to me he was someone from a cartoon when I was a little kid. I don't deny he had talent, but the sort of music he made as time went by is just not my cup of tea.

From the news coverage I have seen, the talk is mainly about his money problems, his death, his past legal troubles, etc. I'd say that sort of coverage is going to be what the major news outlets are going to focus on. I have seen some talk of his talent, of course, but it seems to be in the context of how he was worshiped by so many people around the world. I figured someone was going to propose this at some point: Michael Jackson May Be Buried At Neverland

Speaking of The Blues, and Chicago, I saw this last night: Maybe they went to that record store while they were there.

I am reminded of this deal:

Analogman replied to rockinrob's topic in Someone Else's Song
I think Paul vetoed that deal a while back. -

I think Paul owns the Buddy Holly songs. From the LA Times: -
I was looking at a Michael Jackson thread on another board I am on - and noticed it almost mirrors this one. You can tell a person's age by what they say about him I think. And I don't think I ever I really listened to them past the age of twelve. Although his music after the Jackson Five is not the sort of thing I would listen to, it is interesting that his stardom spans such a wide age group. He still has the biggest selling album of all time (Thriller) - although, it seems to also be listed at Number 2, depending on which list you are looking at. (The Eagles Greatest Hits, Bat Out Of

The "instruments" for the game. I happened to see that photo on another message board. Why does Paul's bass have a tremolo bar on it? Here is the answer:
-
Is the board not as active as it once was?
Analogman replied to Tweedling's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
It is working. I think there is some setting that people have to check to accept personal messages. -
