  1. i literally spit my orange juice out when i saw this.
  2. http://www.nyctaper.com/?p=2821 Here's a great version of 4/2/11 at the Wellmont Theatre. It's a shame those "Evening With" shows will probably never happen again, they yielded some unforgettable shows with fantastic setlists.
  3. These two setlists have me pumped for Brooklyn and Cooperstown this summer. I mean, 6 BT and 3 AM songs in the same show? Killer! I was considering making these shows my excuse to finally go see a show at Red Rocks, and after seeing these setlists, I've made a huge mistake. On another note, anybody get there early for Dr. Dog? How were they?
  4. That line stuck out to me as well, was very funny
  5. Uncle Tupelo reunion is just Jeff and John playing with a Jay Farrar/Ken Coomer hologram
  6. Going to both Brooklyn shows and possibly Cooperstown. Was going to go to Louisville, but once i found out both Wilco and MMJ would be coming to NYC this summer, i decided against it.
  7. I don't think that solo could have belonged to anyone but Nels
  8. Went on down to Other Music in NYC, picked up the last copy they had of March 16-20, 1992. Also picked up the Tallest Man on "King of Spain" EP, as well as some used junk while i was there. Successful? Yes.
  9. Very saddened by this. I was super thrilled that i was finally able to make it to a midnight ramble in December, Dawes were there as were Jackson Browne, Donald Faigen, and Garth Hudson showed up too. Was a fantastic night of music that i'll never forget. He brought some wonderful songs and music into this world, and i think i've been watching this video on repeat all day, such a strong performance: RIP Levon, you'll be sorely missed
  10. It was actually set up in a very similar manner at Dutchess stadium, but i was able to show up halfway through Conor Obersts opening set and get a really good spot a 8-10 yards ahead of the soundboard, it was never really that crammed at this show, but maybe it didn't sell out? (there was a bigger show in Brooklyn just a few nights earlier that was probably the more popular option). I think it was nice that if people wanted to sit, they could be in the bleachers in the back, but there was nothing particularly stopping them from coming forward and standing.
  11. I'd actually love to see that! it was one of my all time favorite shows for any band, its what turned me into a hardcore wilco fan
  12. My second ever Wilco show was at Dutchess stadium in Wappingers falls, NY the summer of 2009. It was a perfect night and in many ways a perfect show, i'd much rather see Wilco in that setting than in an Arena or some outdoor amphitheater like Camden (Red Rocks is an exception, that must be a beautiful place to see a show). I'm really hoping that for a NYC area show wilco chooses some outdoor venue that isn't Jones Beach/PNC bank arts center, those amphitheaters just aren't great places to see shows.
  13. Whenever i see the name Bill Evans, i think of the New York area channel 7 meteorologist
  14. I have less of a problem with timberlake, and more with including Brad Paisley and the Black Eyed Peas. And even though i'm a huge TVOTR fan, their inclusion on this list seemed very strange and out of place.
  15. Cool that Wilco was included, but that has to be one of THE WORST "best of" lists i've ever seen for many many reasons
  16. I'd just like to say that as somebody in their early 20's who is most definitely not a dad, i enjoy seeing Walken live.
  17. ELT Magazine Called Sunset Kingpin Spiders (the good old fashioned way, they seem to be leaning towards the acoustic version these days) Say You Miss Me Sunloathe (wanna hear them finally break this out) Joe Dimaggio's done it again (not actually, but hey why not?)
  18. I think they retired most of the ones that needed to be this time around, my list used to be Hate it Here, You are my Face, Deeper Down. I think in terms of songs they could still lose: I'm the Man who loves you: Probably my least favorite YHF song, has never done anything for me really One Wing: Used to like it, thought it was a stronger Wilco the album track, but it's got pretty old by now I'll Fight: always thought it was alright, doesn't need to be played live regularly though
  19. Seconded, that was quite an enjoyable read for many reasons.
  20. Glad to see they FINALLY announced it, there have been pics of this thing circulating since last summer
  21. That encore is the King(pin) of all encores, reminds me of the 1st night at the UIC in '09: You Never Know Heavy Metal Drummer Just a Kid Kingpin Monday Outtasite Hoodoo Voodoo I'm a Wheel That one was great, but this oakland show seemed like one to remember, wish they brought some of this stuff out on the east coast
  22. Great setlist, like how Laminated Cat is creeping it's way back into the Wilco picture after the "Evening With" tour a few years ago. With these setlists getting better and better, hopefully they'll come back to the east coast soon.
  23. "When Cameron was in Egypt land, Let my Cameron go" Classic, one of my favorite scenes from this movie
