  1. This guy on twitter got a setlist http://twitpic.com/6rok8v
  2. I wanna be your kingpin, livin in the ryman Put in It's just that simple for ryman #2, and Hotel Arizona for the civic opera house show
  3. True, but occasionally Cars Can't Escape or Magazine called sunset would be on top. I remember leading up to the first Solid Sound, the #1 request for a while was "Let's not get carried away", which i was sort of hoping they would play, even if i knew it was beyond a longshot. In other news, who wants to help me get Kingpin played at night #1 in Nashville?
  4. Not better than YHF. Even if you disregard the history behind the album, it was something incredibly special. I would put this album at the very least as the 3rd best Wilco album, maybe beats AGIB for 2nd best. The songs are fantastic, each one of them.
  5. It definitely got lost in the middle of the set the first night. OSM sorta brought the set to a grinding halt. I'm not sure if it's meant to be an opener either, but it definitely worked way better as an opener than as the 8th song of the night. It was pretty great to hear it a 2nd time. As for the rest of the show, it definitely had a more upbeat vibe than the 1st night, and i think throwing in songs like California Stars and Pot Kettle Black earlier on in the set definitely helped with that, as opposed to songs like Ashes, ALTWYS and She's a Jar that were played the first night. Somebody t
  6. I would do that, but the internet at the venue was pretty dodgy last night, it was enough of a chore to get my twitter app to work consistently on my phone
  7. For those of you who want to follow the show while staying dry, i'll again be live-tweeting the underwater show tonight from @subtle_sounds. Part of me is looking forward to another Rain-infused Wilco show, a la the first night of Solid Sound this year which was a heck of a lot of fun. It could get pretty miserable out there though...
  8. I always tell my friends "I really dislike Jam Bands. Wilco is just a band with good jams". I could see how if you went to a show and saw them do ALTWYS, Spiders, Ashes of American Flags, Impossible Germany, and Handshake Drugs, you could see Wilco as being some sort of Art-Rock Jam Band, but there really is an enormous difference between Wilco and the whole Jam Band genre.
  9. Ya, springsteen always does who'll stop the rain if it's raining while he takes the stage. I yelled at Wilco to do it at Solid Sound, but no luck
  10. For those of you that will be home instead of being drenched in the rain, i'll be livetweeting every soaking-wet minute of BOTH nights, because tomorrow looks even worse (and by worse i mean insanely fun). Just check out @subtle_sounds tonight and tomorrow if you can't make the show! And yes, I'm looking forward to reliving the wet memories of Solid Sound II
  11. Ya, this is what happened. The Letterman tapings are usually around 5:30pm, but the webcast was live (8pm). While i was waiting in line to get in, i saw the Letterman crowd all walk out of the studio
  12. Luckily, you're coming IN to the city, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with the bridge i think. I usually prefer bridges over tunnels in NYC, but i don't usually dable with Queens, so i don't know how much help i can offer.
  13. No boots of this current tour have seemed to show up yet, but as you mentioned there's a recording of the Japan show in july, and also there's some decent recordings of both nights of solid sound, which debuted some of the new material a few months ago.
  14. I actually think the white pickguard is beautiful
  15. One Sunday Morning for sure, Art of Almost in a close second, and probably a tie w/ Capitol City and Rising Red Lung for 3rd
  16. I'm really glad Pat stepped up to the challenge, i think it really shows on this album, and it wouldn't be as great without him in the role he had.
  17. Doors at 5, show at 6. I think it's because Central Park has more strict curfews than your average NYC music venue
  18. I think i'd prefer to see them end a main set with One Sunday Morning rather than it ending the whole show. I remember at the first Solid Sound, they ended the main set with On and On and On, and that was awesome and moving. But i've become so accustomed to Wilco shows ending on a rocking note (Hoodoo Voodoo, I'm a wheel, Monday, etc) that i would feel weird if the whole show ended on a somber note. Could still be cool though, i've just always appreciated how much Wilco shows pick up towards the very end in terms of energy.
  19. Awesome set list, good to see its a bit longer than the first few, and features some different Whole Love material for once. Also great to see Ashes back in the setlist.
  20. If they open with OSM at one of the multiple shows i see on this tour, many parts of my life will be complete. For only being 20 songs long, this setlist is great.
  21. Just noticed that if you go to the shows page and click "view tours by year" on the right side, you can see the setlist from any show going back to '94. I guess this is replacing Wilcobase?
  22. Poor Places > Reservations > Bull Black Nova. interesting That's partly awesome, but i also would have felt slightly cheated, they're literally teeing up for spiders with those first two, and not to hear it (even though BBN is awesome) would have been a downer. The setlist for this show looks pretty awesome though
  23. One of my absolute favorites. Another one that gets me every time: "I know we should be grateful, everything is falling apart Everything is breaking, and it lifts my heart To see you as an angel, as some ghostly work of art Why don't you come to me now, know who you are"
