  1. Hmm I posted that about Black Moon recently, I'll have to listen to both of them to determine their respective degrees of muzzle-ness.
  2. Brilliant, O' Rourke-esque track.The 2:26 point gives me some serious goosebumps.
  3. Black Moon reminds me of a slowed down Muzzle of Bees...which happens to be my all-time favorite Wilco track.
  4. Capitol City's the one you're thinking of. Though the middle of the album (Born Alone until Standing O) is noticably weaker, I'm still very relieved to hear the whole record turned out infinitely better than I expected. I never could have dreamed it'd be on par with Sky Blue Sky. I knew I wasn't the only one hearing a hint of a glimpse of Black Eye (the Sunken Treasure version, that is). For me, Black Moon was an instant love but I can see why it wouldn't be for some people. I'm really hoping I can get into Born Alone and Open Your Mind, but I'm not optimistic.

  12. ^I got this recommended to me recently and it is a great one indeed. I like this one too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79PffDsRp88
  13. I put together three twenty-song mix tapes recently of all covers, and this is by far my favorite of them all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvxIbLf-7ig
  14. At the moment, I think Laura Marling tops my most talented female artists creating today. Slightly more low profile, Emmy The Great really can't do much wrong in my eyes either. If we venture into "of all time" territory, Aimee Mann would take the cake, no doubt about it.
  15. I'm flying solo for the Antwerp gig tomorrow evening, if anyone wants to meet up (or take my spare ticket off my hands), let me know. Concerning the new album, I was underwhelmed by the lead-off single Down By The Water but luckily it's one of the weaker songs on the album, in the up tempo department it's easily outshined by Rox in the Box. I definitely think Rise To Me is the highlight of the album, very Hazards of Love that one (my favorite album of theirs). Don't Carry It All reminds me of another Hazards track, namely Wager All. Even the alt-country sounds of All Arise! is carried wel
  16. Great! Looking forward to seeing them on Sunday.
  17. I'll be looking forward to this, Good Morning Spider has some of my all-time favorite tunes with a prominent mention of sparrows. Picking a favorite with "horse" in the lyrics is a whole other and substantially harder mission .
  18. Okay, so everyone is reading this book? So many blog entries about it and now here, it'd disturb the natural order if I didn't pick it up at some point.
