  1. Agree with the sound, it was better on the second show. And also the setlist seemed much better the second night (I happened to talk to Pat Sansone before the show in Barcelona, just bumped into him outside the venue, and he also said the second night's setlist had been better). And about the shows not being that long, the Roundhouse had a curfew at 23h, so that explains why they couldn't make it longer... though I agree that both the supporter and them could have started earlier so the concert would have been at least 2 hours long... But it was great. The new songs sound so good live and for
  2. I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it was a great show!!!!! The venue is surely one of the most beautiful places where they've ever played (a lovely art nouveau building with a wonderful accoustic), and it was packed! The audience was surrendered from the first song and though it was a seated venue you could feel that the audience was warm and having a good time, with lots of applauds and "oeee, ooeee, ooeeee, ooeeeee" chants that the band really loved! People remained seated until half of the encore and I must confess that I was the only one standing up on the stalls dancing happily to "A Shot in
  3. Sorry, just realized that it's already on another thread... By the way, l love the video for "Born Alone", one of my favourite songs for the moment from the new album...
  4. Oh, dear... That's just hilarious!!! And I think it does deserve a thread as he seemed to go on with other songs as well... ;o)
  5. Hi! finally you can buy the tickets for the show at Palau de la Musica. Good luck with it!!! Stall seats seem to run out fast (in spite of the prices...). Just be careful with some seats on the higher floors as some have limited view (they say so when you select them). I found the booking process confusing when you want to change the allocated seats, but it turned out fine in the end. Cris
  6. Hi all! also haven't been around for a long time! Still no news about the show in Barcelona but I'll keep you posted when I find out. I called the box office yesterday morning, when the tickets were supposed to be on sale, but they knew nothing about it, so I guess that there'll be no news until Monday (oh, I love this country...). At least have my tickets for the Roundhouse already!! Cris
  7. Just replying to myself, but the recording is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And obviously, the concert was amazing, but being the venue a large festival space didn't make it as enjoyable in terms of sound quality as it is watching it now... Ok, still got some songs left... ;o) Check out Misanderstood's tremendous end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb0uRXrImGg&feature=related
  8. Hi! I don't think anyone posted the setlist of Wilco's show at Primavera Sound Festival this year in Barcelona. I just found some videos on Youtube of the broadcasting of the concert on Spanish tv (I have no clue at when it was aired), and they are brilliant!!!!! As you'll see, most of the show was recorded, except the first two songs (due to sound problems... I remember the band was complaining about it), and only a few others are also missing. You can find all the songs on the users video channel (ordered with numbers) and the recording is amazing!!!!! I'm enjoying the sound better here than
  9. Oooh, highly recommended, Teenage Fanclub just released a new album called "Shadows" and it's brilliant!!! Beautiful pop tunes!!
  10. Oh, I loved Del Amitri, and I still do... Never had the chance of seeing them live but in the last few years I've seen several times their lead singer, Justin Currie, playing solo and he's amazing. On his live shows he revisits some of the Dels catalog and it's really great!!
  11. Hola everybody! What a beautiful show we had last night. Jeff played wonderfully and he seemed to be pretty relaxed, joking between songs about some “distractions” that happened during the set. The audience (to my great surprise) was really good!!! The first rows with fans who cheered and sang to the songs and the rest of the crowd quite surrendered to him, wondering how a guy with just a guitar could make such a perfect concert! I also realize now that he played all the songs I had requested on the Wilco site!!! ;o) There weren’t that many requests live, though, something funny, he stopped to
  12. I'm gonna be seing Jeff tonight at the Faraday Festival (first show in Spain, in a seaside town near Barcelona), so I'll try to post some news about it tomorrow. The Festival is located in the gardens of an old mansion like building, up in a hill by the beach, so quite an intimate venue. The location is perfect though I'm afraid the audience is one of the most unrespectful to music I've ever seen... Or at least they were like that yesterday night, talking and "enjoying their time" not paying attention to any of the bands playing... So right now I'm just horrified to think that Jeff's solo show
  13. Now that you mention Grizzly Bear, I see the similarity... I happened to go to a Grizzly Bear show last November in Brussels (one day after Wilco played also there) and I was pretty impressed with the lights they had. It was beautiful, a different kind of lights, not candelabra but hanging lights, that changed colours and followed rhythmically with the music... Looking forward to see if they bring this over to Europe...
  14. Hi! Do you know if Rob is still around? I sent an e-mail with some setlist info but never got any answer or the info was ever updated on the wilcobase site... Is the feedback e-mail the right one to contact? Thanks!!
  15. General tickets on Sale.. Got mine!!!! London & Newcastle on this link: http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/search?tm_link=tm_homeA_header_search&q=wilco
  16. Oooh, that's so unusual to find Del Amitri fans anywhere!! Good to know! Justin's next album is out next May (and he's got a mini tour in the UK too). He's an amazing songwriter!! Sorry for the non-Wilco related content here, rest of people! But this is pretty exciting, at least for remphish1 and me!! ;o)
  17. On the last years Wilco have become my favourite band ever so, besides The Beatles and Dylan, I would mention: - Long time favourites: Bruce Springsteen, Justin Currie, Del Amitri, Radiohead, Richard Hawley, David Bowie & Tom Petty - New music I really love: Fleet Foxes, The Felice Brothers, Soulsavers... Well, the list could go on and on but Wilco, right now are on the first place!!!!
  18. Good to know... it took me weeks to find it in a shop! ;o)
  19. Once you've submitted your request, you are directed to the page with the most requested songs for that show...
  20. Nice thread!! Justin Currie - The Great War (out sometime in April) And new Fleet Foxes and Arcade Fire... can't wait for those too! Fantastic news!
  21. Yeah, I didn't mean that (I'm older than 30), so I've also done that in the past! Unfortunately there hasn't been a record (vinyl) player at home for ages... ;o) I was just curious to know what made him try with Wilco!! They JUST sound perfect at normal speed...
  22. Isn't this really a joke? It sounds so fun! Two questions just come to my mind: 1. Panther, how did you come up with the idea in the first place? 2. Without a vinyl copy here... Any way of speeding up the sound on a CD player?
  23. Ooh, that's lovely!! Try again e-mailing, I hope it works! You could also try the song request on the website: request "YOUR SONG" several times explaining the reason why you'd like them to play and maybe they can get in touch with you before the show! Another idea maybe: having other fan who'd be going to a previous show and manages to talk to the band or their crew to pass on your message... Good luck again! And keep us posted on any news about it...
  24. Posted 08 November 2009 - 01:22 PM Phenomenal show. No, Jeff wasn't that chatty but was very focused on the music and let's face it, that's what counts. He did however complement the audience on the best country-without-English-as-its-first-language-singalong to Jesus etc. that he had experienced (faint praise?)! ---------------- Yeah, I was there too and it was an amazing show!!! I thought Jeff was really chatty (maybe compared to previous shows I've been to in Spain...). And the Jesus, etc, singalong was wonderful! You can check it here:
  25. Good luck with your request!! I was not sure either about the request page but in my case it did work!! I requested (more than once, I have to admit) if they would play "Remember the Mountain Bed" last year in Barcelona and they did!!! I couldn't believe it, really, but among lots of other wonderful songs, specially that one made my day! Mikael was the one choosing that night's setlist, Jeff said... I may start soon thinking about some requests for the next show in town... ;o)
