Wilco - 25/6/2012 Red Butte Garden - Salt Lake City
peteboiler replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in After The Show
Jimjiminy, that was a great post and review. I really enjoyed it, and my thoughts exactly on not meeting, but always wanting to meet the band. I am grateful for them and everything they do for us. Wilco has always been a class act IMO. I accept the fact that they don't 'hang' with the fans often, although sometimes they do. I just saw on another thread that Jeff says that Wilco fans are more of a community than wanting to meet the band, or something like that. He is a very humble man, and I appreciate that. Unlike one of my other favs, John Mellencamp. I have seen him around 5 times an -
I personally rate Wilco (TA) as the weakest, but would never criticize those who think different. To each their own, and we are all Wilco fans in general. Bob

Uncle Tupelo Reunion Tour. You heard it here first.

Never gonna happen. -
Yeah, Wilco blaring from my truck's speakers made the monsoon an afterthought. About time I knew of another Wilco fan in Melbourne! Bob

Listening to Tweedy's live performance in the pacific northwest right now. Man oh man how I am so crazy excited right now.

We are in. Got your phone number. So freaking stoked! Bob

Panama Hattie's sounds good. Time?

Set something up. We can be there prior to the show. Bob

So we are driving north from Melbourne to the show and are staying all night at the Sawgrass. We are looking to stop after the show to hang with some fellow Wilco fans. Who wants to join and where? Bob

Summerteeth (as far as listening pleasure) TWL (I think from start to finish this is their best since YHF) YHF (This was my masterpiece prior to TWL) Being There (my first Wilco - the second CD has a couple songs I skip through) Ghost (Less than you think is atrocious - but not my least favorite Wilco song) Sky (again, a couple of clunkers) AM (good album, but the band was obviously starting to learn the ropes) W(TA) (a couple of great tunes, and a few horrible ones. Also, my least favorite song Everlasting Everything) For wha

What happens to the set list after the show? I have always wanted to have one signed (I highly doubt it's possible, but hey, I can dream), and am curious if Jeff hands them out or takes them with him or... Bob

Thanks to Moxie and Central. Looks like I lucked out. And there will NOT be any sitting for us! Listening to The Whole Love right now! Bob

Just purchased 4 tix to the upcoming St. Augustine show via presale. Got right pit D 9-12. I checked out the theater website and it does not state where right pit is. Just says Pit 1, 2, or 3. And are these good seats? Anyone help? Bob

Living in Melbourne, I am stoked to see the new St. Augustine date! I am so there on the pre-sale on Wednesday. Can everyone do me a favor and wait until I get front row? (the closest I have been is row 8 last year in Indy - the opening show). And by the way, I'm kidding about waiting. Let's rock! Bob

Putting myself in Tweedy's shoes, I can understand how it can be annoying to look out and see people looking DOWN at their cell phones. What I think he should understand is that the majority of the people that are there...are there for HIM! I turn my cell phone off because I want to enjoy the experience. If others at the show want to use their cell phones for their own concert experience, I think that is ok. It is policy, and I respect that. However, Mr. Tweedy needs to loosen up a bit and just realize that people pay their money to see them, to hear them in any way they see fit. Bob -
I live in Melbourne, which is about halfway down the East Coast. Luckily, when they did the EVENING WITH tour a couple of years ago, I got to see them across the state in Clearwater. This tour, however, I saw that no plans were made for FLA, so I got some tickets for me and my gal, and we flew to Indy for the tour opener. What a lucky couple we were! Bob

D-man wonders why you guys don't like the Whole Love?
peteboiler replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Just A Fan
I've been listening to it continuously and it amazes me as I hear it over and over. Every song is pleasant to my ears. YHF is still their masterpiece, IMO, but this album is closely behind. Not one song I feel the need to skip over. Bob -
When I listen to 'Sunloathe', I think of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Anyone else?

Very interesting article. I am not a Radiohead fan, but I do appreciate what they do. My GF, however, LOVES Radiohead first, and then Wilco. She has never, ever seen the comparison despite me pleading with her. Bob

I was going to post a similar topic yesterday but didn't get around to it. John is simply amazing on this album. The Bass line in 'Almost' is out of this world. Kudos to Jeff and Pat and the mixer for allowing him to shine. Bob

I'll play...again. 1. YHF 2. Summerteeth 3. Being There 4. A Ghost is Born 5. Sky Blue Sky 6. Wilco (TA) 7. AM I have a feeling THE WHOLE LOVE will be at the top, but we will have to see....Indy in 3 days!!!

So I am so stoked! Flying to Indy to be with my fellow Colts fans on Sunday, hitting the local breweries on Monday, and them THE SHOW on Tuesday night! I am curious what the set-list may be. I realize this isn't going to be a 2 1/2 hour 'Evening with' show, but not sure what to expect. Now don't get me wrong. Whatever the boys play I will be happy with (and I sincerely hope they play Via Chicago), but am wondering what I am in store for. Bob

Give me a time and we will be there! Will email pics so you know what we look like. Can't wait! Bob

Would Anyone Like A Free Ticket to Indy Show?
peteboiler replied to what i once was's topic in Just A Fan
If it is still available, I will take it! My girlfriend and I have tickets, and our friend Alex really wants to go! The thing of it is that we are flying in from Florida and I wouldn't want Alex to take the trip if he didn't have it. So...email me at peteboiler@hotmail.com if it is still available and THANK YOU!!! The Whole Love: Speculation and (eventual) reactions
peteboiler replied to Al.Ducts's topic in Just A Fan
I may be in the minority, but I have no desire to hear a 'leak'. I look forward to opening the CD, look at the booklet and absorbing it the way it is meant to be. The problem I have is that I am going to the first show of the fall tour in Indy and will be unfamiliar with the new songs. Bob
