  1. The whole show looks like such a great show, with cool collaborations....but these three in a row really bring it (me?) back to the late 90s. AmericanaramA, indeed.
  2. St. Stephen is my favorite Grateful Dead song. So glad they played it.
  3. Only if you consider banana obsessions strange.
  4. Not sure guitar fiends are fainting during the current, less-Krautrock/more acoustic live version of Spiders. Guess we can't expect RS to know anything everything.
  5. Beach House. Won free tickets from a radio station.
  6. Standard parking in the regular Gillette lots. Got an email about logistics (showtime, parking, etc.) that gave a heads up on the parking fee. Glad they did not go in style --> Limo and RV parking = $150. Seriously. Glad to hear the Melvins ruled. And parking was probably a lot cheaper, too.
  7. That was a great video; I liked Haynes' flourishes on California Stars, and I have always thought Nels could add a little more toward the end of the song. Maybe that will inspire him to. And the All the Young Dudes looked like Rolling Thunder redux.
  8. I am the Cosmos is a top 5 all time song for me. I am floored that they played it.
  9. So this is the AmericanaramA tour date I (all of us?) should have attended......
  10. This is why I really enjoyed the article. They don't call it the music business for nothing. There is a business side to it, and I am glad Wilco has figured out how to make a good living in a rapidly changing economic landscape.
  11. My wife and kids are seeing Taylor Swift tonight. Notable for the $40 (yes, that is $40) parking fee at Gillette Stadium. Makes me love Solid Sound all the more - free parking.
  12. You are shitting us. No you're not - too many details in that post to be shitting us. That is great!!!!
  13. That manager's been smokin' some of the herbs used at that 'healthy' fast food place.
  14. Cool, cool, and cool. Was I in Your Dreams is a gem. And I am a new, bandwagon-jumping Lucius fan (especially when they play with Wilco).
  15. I saw GE Smith in Dylan's band a couple of times in the late 80s. Those shows were tough to take - muddy, muddy sound from the band, poor vocals. Two of the worst concerts I have seen. By anyone. A shock after seeing Dylan rip it up on the tour with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers just a year or two before that. The Dylan/Petty tour was fun, similar to Dylan's tours with The Band where the setlist was a mix between Dylan's songs and the backing band's songs. Wouldn't that be interesting if Dylan and Wilco did a tour like that? A sample setlist: Things Have Changed Love Sick High Water (for C
  16. I saw an hour-long parade. I love parades. Even in 90 degree heat.
  17. I am inclined to agree with this. To add to the speculation, I doubt he knows he is being blown off the stage because he likely has not seen MMJ or Wilco play on the tour. Ignorance is bliss.
  18. I am pretty sure this is what made it onto the HBO Reverb film, but there were many more songs that did not make it onto this film. I was at the show as well, and if I remember correctly, they played quite a bit longer than an hour. Love that TO BE BLOWN! That is when I realized that this was my favorite band. And it has been that way for 16 years.
  19. Cool! I love that song. I am so glad that Wilco is playing with the other artists on the bill - Weir, MMJ, RT. I wonder if the folks at Jones Beach will get to see Beck join Wilco? I hope Dylan joins in the fun, but I continue to have my doubts about it happening on this tour. I suppose he has already had his fun, sacking Duke and bringing back Charlie Sexton.
  20. This is the one I want to hear live from W(TA) more often. Great to see it make an appearance again!
  21. You are right - they brought one of the golden ticket winners out, and it (no, she) was a little awkward. I, maybe mistakenly, thought that they would have each of the golden ticket winners request a song, and not just one of them. That said, Candyfloss was great.
  22. I agree - I was disappointed that the golden ticket winners did not get to pick a song - that was part of the publicized deal, with free SS passes as well. Especially disappointed that it was a good chance to hear a not-often-played song, like Pieholden Suite. I think the band missed a good opportunity, and it could have brought some focus to Hodgman's "hosting".
