  4. I'll be there (I assume you refer to the Paradise)
  5. Yes indeed! The PPV video of Playing is here in this article: https://www.jambase.com/article/bob-weir-phil-lesh-welcome-jeff-chimenti-larry-campbell-teresa-williams-chicago-theatre
  6. Ha! Hilarious! I grew up an Islanders fan. We lived in Merrick, about 15 minutes away from the brand new Coliseum. I was in jr. high when they started ('71-72 season?) and my dad and an uncle got seasons tickets. Years of lousy teams. I had moved to Boston in September '79, but was home in Merrick when they won that first cup in '80.
  7. Being in the audience last night for my one and only show of this tour, I didn't experience any train wreck cringe worthy moments. Perhaps they were there and I just missed them while being immersed in the entirely fantastic gestalt of being inside the Wang. But if there were any last night, they couldn't have been too major to escape my notice. Then again, I was psyched for this show like I haven't been for a GD related show in years. As I was getting things in order at home to leave, my wife said to me "Boy you are psyched. I can just feel the energy molecules emanating from your body." I wa
  8. I thought it was funny when Phil came out for the donor rap and started talking about being back in Boston, he said this isn't the Garden but it's a nice fun place to play just as much. As if he had no idea of all the fantastic Dead shows that went down in that building when it was the Boston Music Hall. Particularly those Nov/Dec '73 shows that became my favorite DIck's Pick.
  9. Saw last night's Bob and Phil Duo show, with Larry and Theresa back for night 2. I thought the show was Fantastic! Pretty much a perfect show for me. What a great vibe to the music. Hard to pick out highlights in a show that blew me away the entire night, but Black Throated Wind (2nd song of the night), Mountains of the Moon>Rosemary>Mountains and Morning Dew definitely come to mind. Exceeded my expectations for sure. From the Boston Globe's review of the Wednesday show: "But Weir and Lesh demonstrated yet again that one of the greatest catalogs in American music stands up to interpretat
  10. Hope you make it. I'm in left center orchestra, row K. Reddish shirt and skull and roses hat.
  11. I haven't watched more than a song here or there, but several friends who have been at these shows have all been floored by Weir's acoustic guitar playing. I'll get to check it out first hand tonight.
  12. Bob and Phil Duo show. I didn't go last night. I'd be happy to see Larry and Theresa play again tonight.
  13. Definitely some sloppy unpracticed parts, but still really like the performance. Nice vibe. Liked it enough to snatch a ticket for this Thursday.
  14. Here too. That was a huge favorite in my crowd when we were in h.s. I still have my vomit swirl colored vinyl. These days I mostly listen to the 2006 "Definitive Collection" cd. I always try to catch him when he's in the neighborhood, but it's been a few years now.
  15. One of the marks of a great songwriter and lyricist: approach with new eyes and ears and new things get revealed. Jeff Tweedy.
  16. Without any thought, my first thought is Daltry, just for the howl on Won't Get Fooled Again.
  17. ^^ Agree. My interest in JA studio albums stopped with Bark. Although I wasn't particularly fond of the lineup, replacing Spencer with Johnny Barbata and including Papa John (who I loved in HT) Thirty Seconds has some great live tracks, especially what we considered as the Hot Tuna songs Feel So Good and Trial By Fire. Also, we had some memorable nights with the cover. I seem to remember winged toasters flying around my room.
  18. Have you listened to Bless Its Pointed Little Head??? In my crowd that is one of the all time great live albums. Jaw dropping. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bless+its+pointed+little+head+full+album&view=detail&mid=CD5C673191A63ED7854DCD5C673191A63ED7854D&FORM=VIRE
  19. I've been seeing Hot Tuna religiously since 1973. I can't wait for this book. Jorma is such a thoughtful and interesting guy. Besides being one of my favorite guitar players.
  20. Shelby Lynne. Not familiar with her but our friends got us tickets and I'm up for it.
  21. You must be referring to my comment, which was that the Binghamton Jack Straw is my personal favorite version. Not the best ever. I couldn’t say any version of any song is best ever, but I have a few personal favorite versions, and this is my Jack Straw favorite. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. The mailman just brought me Dave’s #25, the incredible Binghamton 11-6-77. I’ve had this show in one form or another forever. Always one of my favorite first sets, and my absolute favorite Jack Straw. I’m sure everyone here has spent time with this show. So glad to have it with the full HDCD Rhino treatment. Sounds great.
