Wilco — 26 September 2017, Santa Fe, NM (Santa Fe Opera)
worldrecordplayer replied to sonnyfeeling's topic in After The Show
What were they doing in 1999, and what are they doing now??? I love that album. Most of my Wilco listening is live stuff, but Summerteeth gets regular play. Great album to my ears. -
Nice! Not on that board, but I will be getting there pronto. Wonder if they are also posted at the FB fan page Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm not familiar with all his albums, but I really like Wakin on a Pretty Daze (especially the almost title song) and b'lieve I'm goin down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd0K76H7sU8

I was fortunate to catch his pop up set inside one of the galleries. Actually, I liked it better than his main set. I have some photos from the pop up set, but the files are too large to share here (1mb max).

I've never had any interest in seeing his solo band, but after listening to this podcast, and seeing that lineup (wow!), I'm in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Steven Hyden's latest podcast at Celebration Rock is an interview with Mike Gordon. Mike is a very interesting and chatty guy! https://audioboom.com/channel/celebration-rock

Thanks for the recommendation. Between work, listening to music, the New Yorker, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, and all the tv shows I try to keep up with, I have a hard time reading books. But I will try to get to this on my next vacation.

Thanks for the pointer. Lots of titles I'd want to read there. One I know I won't be reading is Mr. Tinnitus Photography's favorite, the Master of Reality book. As I've told Tim, my first rock concert was Sabbath at the Academy of Music on the Master of Reality tour. And I've spent the last 37 years wondering why!

Thanks for this topic. I'm not familiar with this series. Are these hard copy books? I'll have to start reading!

Any suggestions for a nice hotel in walking distance to the Palace in St. Paul?

Here in Boston on Friday. Not a huge fan, but it's a show I can see with my wife which makes it fun. We caught them last time they were here. Have fun!

Damn, taking most if not all of 2018 off? I already am jonesing for a Wilco show (last seen at Solid Sound), the thought of having to wait until 2019 is kind of a major bummer!

Love the song, love the video! Sucks that I'll be out of town when the tour hits Boston. (well, I'll be in Nashville with friends celebrating a birthday, so I shouldn't complain, but you know what I mean...)

This popped up today on my feed as a Facebook memory. The August 2010 article in Berkshire Living that I linked to is no longer available, but I quoted a portion of it: OK, I think this reviewer got it exactly right: “Beauty” is not an aesthetic value that ranks high on the list for rock music. But it’s the word I keep coming back to when going over last night’s stunning, transcendent concert by Wilco. Beauty. In every sense of the word. The music was beautiful. The setting was beautiful; downright gorgeous. The visuals – the lighting and tableaux – were beautiful. The weather was beauti

That first one was something special. Like our own private little party in the Berkshires.
