  1. Two shows come quickly to mind: The Cure at the Underground, Allston MA. Tiny venue, just couple hundred people there I think. Boys Don't Cry was just out. Ramones upstairs at Max's Kansas City. Black Sabbath at Academy of Music-is that early enough (Masters of Reality tour) and small enough to qualify? (right up there with Mr. Tinnitus Photography seeing Phish at the Paradise in the "I would never have thunk it" category). Wilco at the Avalon, Boston. I know there must be others, I will have to give it some thought.
  2. I've probably posted this before, I was at that show. One of my top 5 all time concerts, and the second set may have been the single best GD set I had the fortune to be at. The entire day was one of those magical GD things. My wife and I drove down to MSG for one of the earlier shows in the run, the Saturday show where they opened with Touch. I then bought a single seat way up behind the stage just in case I would go down again. The morning of I had no intentions of going. As I recall, September 20 was a Jewish high holiday, and I was at services with my wife and 2 young kids when I got a call
  3. Good to hear. We were talking about the Truckers last night at the Lovelace show, about how we hadn't heard anything from Hood or Cooley since Tuesday. Unless we missed it. Did they have anything to say from the stage? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. An email I just received from my cousin apropos of this week's events: "Leonard Cohen had to die this week because even he could not find the words to describe our despair."
  5. I figured my offer of a drink wasn't enough when I saw you changed your FB photo at about 9:15. She was really good, I was really happy to be there on so many levels. Was very well attended, but I guess it was a somber crowd as she couldn't get anyone to laugh at her jokes despite her many attempts. Musically right up my alley, I can see why DBT had her open some stops on their current tour. She did a 3 song solo acoustic segment towards the end that was also excellent. Then they ended with the full band thrashing away on stage while she walked off and walked right by us heading to the merch t
  6. I'm buying if that will help motivate to get you out. I know it's not much of an offer but it's all I got!
  7. I don't know I do either, but fortunately I'm going with a buddy so that will provide the impetus. If I were solo, I'd likely go home and never make it back out. Seeing some live music will give me an emotional uplift.
  8. Yes, I will enjoy that, not that it's ever stopped us before . But I am looking forward to December 15, that will be a MA state holiday
  9. Yes, please I'm with you. I need a Wilco crowd right now.
  10. Courtney last night, election night, in Denver. Breaking out an acoustic version of this election night blues tune, Drunk on Election Night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koUNOucbPLs I went to a party with my girl in the city On election night I was hoping everybody’d make a move to the left But we gone and made a swing to the left Now I’m singing the blues for the country As we move into another long night I said ‘you’re making a fool of the country holding hands with the Christian right’ Then I turned to my girl and I cried… Gonna jump that train and ride Sail on the next high tide J
  11. I don't think there is anything about Solid Sound that would disappoint me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. You could take that segment and put it in a time capsule as representative of that era of the band. Incredible.
  13. Looks like a very cool art installation will still be in place when we get to Solid Sound: http://massmoca.org/event/nick-cave-until/?mc_cid=a7e1df515e&mc_eid=e259e375b6
  14. Me too! Except I'm going to JRAD at HOB that Friday. Sorry for the diversion, back to the topic... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Song Exploder did an episode with Tweedy breaking down Magnetized. Worth listening just for that. Dad Rock- I pick and choose on which episodes I listen to, but there have been many excellent ones. Including an episode on Wilco. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. It's Halloween, Phish covering Ziggy Stardust tonight. Great choice. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk https://twitter.com/lawngurl/status/793257374152654848/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Los Lobos would be ideal. Hidalgo played an acoustic set with Marc Ribot at SS'13, Would love to see a full Lobos set.
  18. One of my desert island records. Been listening for 20 years and it never gets old. Has to be my most listened to Wilco studio album. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Excellent. I scored a 5th row seat and Had so much fun. Elvis is in fine form. Pretty much 2.5 hours. I think I saw 30 songs on the set list. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. The keyboard audio (both Mikael and Pat) on this was mixed better than any Wilco show I recall, and I always think Wilco has the best house sound. But the keys here are so clear and much more upfront than usual, at least to my ears.
  21. I'm watching from the beginning from that same original link. I never disconnected it, I just dragged the slider back to the beginning and it's playing from the start.
  22. This is fantastic. The video and audio is top notch. Nice to see they're traveling with the new stage set. I don't think they had that in S. America.
  23. The next Dave's Picks release announced: Boulder 12/9/81 http://www.jambase.com/article/grateful-dead-release-1981-show-daves-picks-volume-20
