  1. Well yes and no. In Boston, they did Estimated, and then Eyes. There is no > there. Over a minute and a half of break between songs. So it may be the first pairing with the "gazinta" https://archive.org/details/gd77-05-07.rolfe.weiner.6021.sbeok.shnf Could it have been the first instance of the pairing of Bertha>Good Loving? I'll have to check the book in the May '77 box when I get home.
  2. Great pic and story Moss, thanks for sharing. I'm not surprised Johnny's a super nice guy. Just always seems like he would be based on his stage presence.
  3. I'm pulling for you and your crystal ball for Lockn'!
  4. I may have to check out that JJ Grey and Mofro show. It's a nice place to hear music on a nice summer night.
  5. I was at the St. Louis show on 5-15-77 that had 3 bust-outs: first Iko, first Passenger and first instance of the Estimated>Eyes combo.
  6. Television Warren Haynes and Boston Pops play Garcia Rodriguez Sharon Jones and Dap Kings Phish Lockn' Festival Missing JazzFest this year.
  7. Anyone do the PPV? I'm likely to do one night, would prefer the next band configuration next week.
  8. #ticketmastersucks Despite the good service for $3.63. Would take about a billion of those stories to change that hashtag.
  9. Great photos Tim! Marred only by the terribly written review. Better to look at your photos on Flickr and not have them polluted by that writing and (lack of) editing. I got to play "Where's Waldo" and found myself in the crowd.
  10. Just got to say I am listening to the first Branford show for the first time in a while. Reminding myself what a masterpiece this second set is. Assume everyone posting here has wrapped their ears around this show once or twice, but if not don't delay. Nassau 1990-3-29. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  11. That may be, but I love Hickman's playing. And I prefer the Cracker songbook. Not that I'm knocking on CVB... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Love Johnny! Big reason I always prefer Cracker to CVB. Hope you get some lessons, and make some good Johnny beer.
  13. New song http://www.jambands.com/news/2014/03/27/medeski-martin-wood-nels-cline-premiere-a-new-tune
  14. Never listened to that first show before. Love that they started it all with I Must Be High-my ringtone!
  15. Right. I stand corrected then, I was referring to the Bottom Line shows in July 1974. Those were the shows I passed on, 2 nights in a row. My brother was clued in, I was clueless. All for what turned out to be a lousy girlfriend, what a waste.
  16. Actually, the shows were right before Born to Run was released. Ten shows over 5 nights. I think these are the shows that led to the famous line "I've seen the future of rock n roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen." The thing is I liked Bruce at the time, listened to The Wild The Innocent... all the time, I was just too lame to leave my girlfriend for the night and go with my brother. BRUTAL is right.
  17. Here's my small club musical regret. August '75, living at home on LI before going off to college. My brother, 6 years older, tries to get me to go with him to the Bottom Line to see this guy Bruce Springsteen. I'm more interested in hanging with my girlfriend and friends and blow him off. Next morning he tells me what an idiot I am, and he's going again and this time I should go with him. Again, I take a pass. I haven't been into Bruce for years now, but i still regret those 2 decisions. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  18. Tinariwen, at the Paradise Rock Club. I'm kinda tired, but my friends are telling me this is a "must" show.
  19. I will second and modify "he said hopefully" to that!
  20. That sucks. I was planning to drive down from Boston in about 2 hours, so I'm staying put at work. As JW Harding noted, I would have been happy to go even with Gregg being ill. Sure, he's a central figure with his singing and B-3 playing, but I know I would have enjoyed it enough with the players they had filling in to make it worth it for me.
  21. Small venue! Two nights. Great news! My prediction: you will be more of a Phan by the closing notes of the second night encore.
