  1. Damn, I was all set to head down tomorrow. I would have been OK if Gregg was too sick to perform given the reports I read about the weekend shows. Hope for a quick recovery. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/121141/Allman-Brothers-To-Reschedule-Rest-Of-Beacon-Run
  2. Well let's just say I disagree. Maybe I can live with the post-'92 qualifier. But having grown up in the Keith and Donna era, it took me many years to attune my ears to Brent's playing and singing. I'm sure there were plenty of clunkers during his tenure. And I thought there were some fantastic shows Fall '90 and Fall '91. Yes, Hornsby was a big part of the reason, but still...
  3. Voodoonola has struck again. posted full show video to MSG 9-20-90. I was at this show, it's a monster. Particularly the second set, which I call the single best GD set I saw. The China/ Rider is off the hook. If nothing else, check out set 2, either this video or audio. Trucking starts around 58 minute mark.
  4. I don't know about that DBoon. Bronchitis in a 70 year old with a liver transplant just might be something you don't screw around with.
  5. Philadelphia Folk Festival, same summer as first Solid Sound
  6. Has anyone heard any pono music? Is it released yet?
  7. Having beers with a buddy this week, and we remembered probably the most significant "small" show I saw was The Cure at the Underground in Boston, in front of maybe 50 people.
  8. I've got tickets for the 25th. Driving down from Boston, Between the weather forecast and Gregg's bronchitis, wondering about this.
  9. Didn't know you were there? Working the pit? I was not far off the rail. Publishing your photos?
  10. That was a Rock Show! I brought a bunch of friends, none of us had seen them, they lived up to all our very high expectations. Right from the English Oceans opener through the Grand Canyon feedback drenched closer. Thought BT was ok, good for an opener, wouldn't rush to see them as a headliner. They did a great a Rocky Mountain Way.
  11. Gregg didn't perform last night. Reported to have bronchitis. Sounds like it was a great show anyway. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/121124/Gregg-Allman-Misses-Allman-Brothers-Band-Show
  12. Soulive was great. Seen them lots of times in Boston, NOLA and DC, but never on their home turf during their own Bowlive run. Great vibe from the get go. Fantastic venue. This review says it all http://www.jambase.com/Articles/121112/Review-Soulive-With-Susan-Tedeschi-and-Guests-Brooklyn Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  13. Back from Brooklyn in time for a Rock Show in Boston tonite. Blitzen Trapper and Drive-By Truckers. First time for me for both bands. Looking forward to it. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  14. can someone let me know what the set times were? How long did Blitzen Trapper play? I see at the Richmond show DBT did 32 songs, which seems like a very long set after an opener. Did BT play a full hour opening set? Thanks.
  15. I saw Muscle Shoals recently. Thought it was excellent. I've always known of the studio, but was unaware there was a house band, like the MG's in Memphis. Great movie. Skydog. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  16. Great to hear. Catching the show next Tuesday. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks for all the words on Blitzen Trapper. I'll see if I can wrestle my gang in early to catch them.
  18. Finally making it down for a show at Brooklyn Bowl. Soulive, with tonight's announced guests Susan Tedeschi, Joe Russo and Bill Evans. Maybe a Derek Trucks showing after the Allmans finish at the Beacon? #Bowlive5!
  19. I think all that lauding and mystique has substantially dissipated over the years. He's mostly seen as an oddball now, at least in the circles I travel in and things I read.
  20. Seeing this show in Boston on Friday (after a trip to Brooklyn for Bowlive). Be sure to let us know how it goes. I saw a recent setlist, 35 songs. Don't know anything about Blitzen Trapper, deciding whether to skip, so any input would be welcome. Can't wait.
  21. Excellent! Did you submit for the Dead Covers Project on Dead.net? Which one is you?
  22. Yeah, especially coming out of the Mass MoCA benefit the night before, that room is not exactly acoustically ideal. What a difference a night made.
