Is it actually out? I don't see it on iTunes and I got a lot of gift certificates from x-mas.
-
Yes, so you should be able to make some calls and get this ad pulled. Get on it before Cadillac destroys punk rock.

Talent Show > Achin' To Be...big time.

Caddys haven't been the car of old men for quite a while now, Edie.

Ubiquity Records vs Shawn Lee Winter 2007 Mix Podcast Remixes and other good shit tied into the following:

Thank you. I have no problem w/ any musician getting paid, but I would have figured the cruise commercials would have created a bigger stir than a Caddy ad.

Which version? Fucking great song, but if we're talking one that you could place as a flag on top of the rock version of Mt. Everest...the opening riff into the atomic bomb of a power chord from Bob on 'Dial' still gives me the chills and just sets you up for P Dub's strep throat vocals and the Tommy/Mars bombast. Plus, the lyrics just embody the more innocent age of indie/college rock and those of us who worshipped at it's altar.

Happy Birthday, woman at the bar!

Happy Bee-day, kid. -
Funny enough...not my favorite Mats track (it's 'Alex Chilton'), but still what I consider the pinnacle of rock'n'roll all over.

Left of the Dial - The Replacements Personally, I think it imbodies the true ethos of rock'n'roll...or at least my definition of rock'n'roll.

Diamond Dave's fronting Van Halen again!

Seconded. The only scarier than Eddie right now is Dave and the only thing scarier than Dave is Dave w/ Eddie. No mas. -

The boys refuse to fall asleep unless this is on the stereo: We forgot it one weekend when we went downstate to visit my folks and an Enya CD my Ma had laying around did not work nearly as effective. Outside of that, they seem to like everything from Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros to the Beastie Boys. P.S. The album was done by Jason Falkner.

The one for the Beastie Boys 'Paul's Boutique' was great...fantastic detail. That's the only other one i've read so far and have the Stone Roses one in que after the Pixies. I've heard mixed reviews on the Replacements one and recall someone saying the one for Prince's 'Sign O the Times' was solid.

Very well-written so far. Goes back and forth between the history behind the band/the album itself and revisiting it today w/ the Black Francis. May even be better than the one on Paul's Boutique.

I've always just dabbled in The Sloan, but a buddy of mine of who really has gotten into them over the past couple of years was distraught at how much he thought the newest album sucked. Said it was really mellow.

...OR COULD IT BE THE MUSIC IS JUST SO GOOD IT'LL MAKE YOU PISS YOUR PANTS? If Fergie isn't paying royalties to JJ Fad and Le Tigre, then my name isn't Meadowlark Lemon.

30 and I should have got the UFO and Rainbow albums.

During a bachelor party/bar crawl some point during the early 90's, I saw a pretty horrible funk/hair metal outfit there that actually had a video on MTV at the time. Two chicks also got in a fight. Misty water-colored memories.

Apple taking over the world...
EL the Famous replied to Nonlinear Nonfiction's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
basically that this thing is going to be really neat device...but a niche play versus a huge mass-market play that will turn the cell phone industry on it's ass. for all the same reasons we were all saying here in the office when it was announced. i bet porn will look pretty good on it though. -
I second the 'Brilliant' given in a post by the esteemed resident of Boston earlier.
