  1. sorry to interupt the bad synth, but again does anyone have any info on the LA presale? i've got to try as many times and ways as possible to get me a pair. PM me if you'd prefer. thanks. --h
  2. i was just going to post the exact same thing.
  3. just looked at ticketmaster and the site lists a presale this friday for the L.A. Nokia show. anyone have any info on the presale or where i might find the info? thanks.
  4. the band sounded great as ever last night. the crowd in the middle however, sucked. no heads nodding along to songs, almost no movement at all, the people around me looked like statues. Nels though was killing it, and Glen was the precise beast he is (his hair's gettin' long too). i think having seats in the lower section was also a mistake, i didn't understand why it wasn't just all GA down there (not like it would have helped me get down there anyway). but for sure it was good to see'em again. highlight for me was too far apart. that was nice.
  5. couldn't agree more. love the fact there are people out there who also feel urban hymns is their weakest album. i was/am a rather large verve fan. saw them in 93, 94, 95 & 97 (got interviewed at one of the 97 shows and made the final cut into their film). those first three years they were amazing. a storm in heaven is one of my desert island discs, an album that resonated so true with me at a certain point in my life that i'll always hold it dear. She's a Superstar is though my favorite of theirs, a true epic. and Nick McCabe is truly fantastic, his sonic walls are in a large way what
  6. is it down again? i'm unable to connect today.
  7. another pm request. i've been feeding sam's kids for a few years now and don't intend to stop when this album is released. thanks!
  8. the deadly syndrome - good solid indie rock(?) you'll hear about'em soon. outta LA trainwreck riders - fun, high energy alt-country with a little city punk thrown in. maybe people already know'em. outta SF
  9. that's awesome you made it in. what an experience!
  10. last time i saw them i got the feeling mr. bridwell has quite the ego, which i could see other band members not willing to put up with. so that's my 2
  11. i saw the white stripes twice at the aragon in 2003 i believe. very good shows, i think they were a couple of the more eclectic setlists they've ever played. the stage is way too high, a good five feet or more off the ground. the first night we were on the floor down near the front and it got hot, but the second night we booked it upstairs & got a couple of the very limited seats on the side. i have to admit i was a tad jealous of shows when i saw them announced, simply because the last time they played there was so great. you guys should be in for a treat.
  12. holy shit! i used to take guitar lessons from him! this really bums me out. he used to come over to my apartment for an hour lesson and we would have a beer after the lesson was over and talk music. i shared a few of my hendrix bootlegs with him as well. he was a wonderful soul. this is truly sad. he gave me a couple of his albums awhile back i think i'm gonna dig one out and give it a listen this evening.
  13. adding my name to the PM wish list. thanks.

  15. i love black eye, love the mood of it. my favorite version is on i think the 11.18.97 solo show. it's one of the songs that i'd absolutely love to hear live (and i'm jealous of all those who have recently gotten to). it's the one i'd probably choose if i was one of those living room show setlist makers.
  16. as awesome as the line-up is, i hate coachella. i would love to see so many of those bands, but festivals and their shortened sets and multiple stages it just doesn't do it for me. But what i really dislike about it is, with this being so close to LA none of the bands are allowed to play local LA shows, which just blows. i'd way rather go to these bands own headlining shows than see them in some slot at coachella. and this rage re-union seems a little hypocritical to me. why are they doing it now? Bush has been in the office for how many years now? when the people could have really used a
  17. dang it. i knew that was too funny/odd/good to have not made it on here somewhere. mods feel free to delete this thread. sorry ya'll

  19. what happened to the option to get all the tracks in audio too if you pre-order thru the wilcoworld website? now it's postcards of the posters. cool, sure, but so would be the audio option.
  20. i have a copy of it at home, can probably get it to you one way or another. send me an PM if you stilll need it. it's got some good stuff on it, though kate's keyboard playing leaves something to be desired. good stuff, glad you're enjoying it. check out some early verve (the ep, the early singles and a storm in heaven) for some similar great spacey stuff. heck the first time i saw radiohead it was because i really wanted to see the opening band, spiritualized.
