Squirrel Bait was a band (of high school kids) out of Louisville that put out two great albums. The sound is not unlike Husker Du - loud but with melody. Three of the guys went on to form Slint and one who didn't (David Grubbs) went on to form Gastr del Sol.

Bettie Serveert - Palomine Saw them play last night. A really good show and they have lots of new stuff but I wanted to hear this one this morning.

One of my favorite books ever is Ken Kesey's Sometimes a Great Notion. It is a little weird but I have no interest in reading it again. It really reminds me of a certain place and time in my life and I think part of me worries that it is not as good as I remember it being.

The Office (from last night). I know, I know, the BBC version is better - but I really like the US version too. "I hope it's urine ..."

Yeah, I'm one of those people. I know I don't need it and I'll tell myself that I won't buy it. But I'll walk in the store and see it and look at all of the extras and I'll buy it.

I really like this. I have not been into Sonic Youth in a while, but this one totally does it for me.
