Nice interview with Watt in the VIllage Voice. Referencing ATP he says "Also, me and Georgie got asked by this Neutral Milk guy--sorry, I don't know his name. Neutral Milk Hotel? He's curating All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in December and he asked me and Georgie, as a duo, to do some Minutemen songs."

Finally watched We Jam Econo last night, and it's great. I like how Watt calls D. Boon "D. Boon" all the time instead of D or Boon. I also like how D. Boon refers to "Michael Snipe" of REM.

What a great band these guys were ...

The criticism of the book is that it is not balanced. I didn't think it needed to be though; to me it was non-political. It is really good reporting on what it was like for a small group of people living in Hiroshima at the time. Most editions have an additional section from the mid-1980s where Hersey went back and followed up on the people that were in the original piece.

Tim Thomas has been great. And his 70s porn star mustache is looking pretty awesome too!

Some random thoughts from me: Really enjoyed the show but my 16 year old son was sort of nonplussed. It was his first show of any kind and I realized it probably wasn't the best introduction to live Wilco/Tweedy music. Any more crowd singing would have annoyed me. Loved seeing You Are Not Alone. Black Eye is one of my favorite songs in Tweedy's catalog but the album version is much much better that the live version. Owsley Stanley dies

Saw this tonight on the big screen. Man, what a great movie.

I'm a big fan of both Cale and Paris 1919. Stan Demeski (drummer for the Feelies and Luna (who opened for the Velvet Underground reunion tour)) wrote this on his facebook page: "Happy Birthday to the only VU member who wouldn't talk to the opening band." He then added "Cale gave me a hard time about signing my un-peeled banana cover too. Last night of the tour I asked him, he said no then asked who I was. He relented a few minutes later."
