  1. And remember how Jon Lester was going to be really good again? He's having another tough night.
  2. Robert Hunter, in his book Box of Rain, notes that "This song was dropped from the Grateful Dead repertoire at the request of fans. Seriously."
  3. As was Day Job in the early to mid 80s ...
  4. I suppose you don't know me but I've been listening to Sonic Youth since Evol and I prefer Rather Ripped to Sonic Nurse.
  5. I think you should get most of their records ...
  6. This is sort of embarassing. I was just in a record store and it was playing and sounded great. I went up to the front desk to see what it was and it turns out that I already own it but just haven't listened to it all that much.
  7. I was in Colonial Williamsburg last week. I assumed I would see hipsters in tri-cornered trucker hats riding their fixie carriages around. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
  8. Love the movie but never read the book.
  9. Worcester DA: Former pitcher Fidrych died of suffocation April 16, 2009 02:23 PM The death this week in Northborough of Mark Fidrych, the former Detroit Tigers pitcher known for his charm and on-the-mound antics, has been ruled an accident, the Worcester district attorney announced today. 11. I know this isn't really American Idol but it is Simon Cowell and it's pretty funny and good: Susan Boyle
  12. Interesting article in today's New York Times about what is the best Grateful Dead show ever.
  13. I work with a guy who consistently mixes up "exacerbate" and "exasperate."
  14. As someone who is a city planner and goes to a lot of community meetings, I thought it hit a little close to home ...
  15. "Back to work, Shoe Bitch ..."
  16. They both had their moments. The Jim/Charles thing has to break ...
  17. For me it's Lou. I like Cale a lot - and would also put Paris 1919 way up there, but for me there is more Lou material that I really like. I've been listening to Berlin recently. Blue Mask remains an all time favorite. I just got copies of New York and his first one on CD. I even like some of his live stuff - Rock n Roll Animal and Live in Italy in particular. With that said, neither of them has put anything out in a while that has really engaged me.
  18. Really? I suppose I could look it up but who besides Crazy Julian Tavarez?
  19. Hadn't listened to this in a while. And crossing threads a bit here, I think this is an album that should be heard in its entirety.
  20. I just finished Season 2 and really liked it. I'm hoping HBO starts Season 3 on demand this weekend.
  21. As was I. And I (and the five people I was with) agree.
