  1. 1 down, 3 to go. (I think. How many N'Sync'ers are there?)
  2. I think you actually have it backwards or are somewhat off, but sort of right too. I think he is a great producer for other people -- Let's face it, he was the producer for Wilco for all of those years Wilco produced their own records. He is just an ok songwriter. With some outside help his songs would be decent but probably not earth shattering. To bring Tweedy into the mix just for fun... Great songwriter, not a great self-producer and is an unknown when it comes to producing others' music until this point. That's why Jeff has always needed to surround himself with great all-aroun

  4. Hey guys I'm in the middle of McCullough's "Truman." Don't ruin it for me. I'm on page 400 - potsdam. Great book. Great guy from what I've read so far.
  5. Far and away I would recommend "Fight Songs." Even my friends who hate good music like it.
  6. It's on my top 10 albums. YHF probably wouldn't make it.
  7. Sorry VC folks. Really. Back to your regularly scheduled ironic humor.
  8. ok. You win. You're the best. I'm sorry. Anytime you have anything interesting to say, don't hesitate to chime in.
  9. I'm hardly an anti-semite. And name calling isn't what I had in mind for this thread. Go screw yourself.
  10. I've noticed that this place is about 10 times less politically charged that it used to be. I can't help but wonder if that is a good thing or if we are just occupying ourselves a little too much with bread and circuses. Anyhow, I will throw this out there: I think it's time that we kiss our allies Israel goodbye. What have they ever done for us? They've completely overreacted on this and will manage to destablize the entire middle east even further.
  11. Proper use of your here - "You're"
  12. Wilco is the new Yacht Rock.
  13. We're thinking of heading down to the Abbey Pub on Saturday night to see Lake Trout play. They are a band from our home town so we thought it would be cool.
  14. Perhaps my biggest objection to stem cell research is that it is one more step to dehumanizing human life. I think it would be a shame for this research to ultimately be the argument to further legitimize the deterministic human engineering as illustrated in "Brave New World." I guess the only reason Bush is against stem cell research is that the world is already abundant with working class thugs and the poor who will fight the wars for the filthy rich.
  15. My buddy Greg and I will be there. We're staying at the Hard Rock hotel downtown. Anybody have anything going on?
  16. Not much to choose from here. It was like voting for president. I'm just trying to pick the least bad song. I'm hopeful however that the songs will benefit from some studio time. Edit: Oh, I also am hopeful that hearing them live in Chicago will bring something new to my experience.

Great, great album! Deserves more credit than it gets.
  18. The Last DJ rules! Great album. My only critisism of the album is the 12-string into to the first song. Everything after that is awesome.
  19. I agree with the Ruffino. You can't go wrong.
  20. Bump. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. Any opinions on whether he is worth seeing? Will be play a guitar?
  21. That's what my local dj told me.. That he doesn't even play guitar at his shows anymore because of CTS. Is that true? If so, should I even buy a ticket tomorrow?
  22. If they are still using the Quicktime/MP4 technology they were using in 2002 you may still be able to hear it. I listened to a show at the 9:30 Club in Dec. 2002 using dial-up.
  23. I've been listening to M. Ward's Post-War for a least a week straight.
