  1. Here's a little bit of info on Jeff's Rickenbacker. http://www.chicagomusicexchange.net/blog/2011/02/09/jeff-tweedy-and-his-1966-rickenbacker-365-fireglo/
  2. My roommate just finished it, and liked it. He speaks highly of everything Murakami and lent me his copy of Kafka on the Shore a couple months ago - good read. Right now I'm reading A Place of My Own by Michael Pollan. Haven't had much free time to really dig in, but I've enjoyed it so far.
  3. Long repetative Grateful Dead songs and Mumford & Sons. Just can't get into them, even if they cover a song I like. Can't enjoy it. Maybe it will change, maybe it wont. As for now, keep 'em the hell away from me!
  4. ...but they crossed the line big time when that ass was Wilco.
  5. Cool, didn't know Pat kept hambugers in his hair, but with the kind of volume he has goin' on I knew something was up. Can't wait to buy some spinach!
  6. The last half of the song when Ken sticks to the crash and Jay and Leroy do their thing on keys just blows me away, and the whoosh-like ending... Wow! Wonderful version.
  7. Awesome! That worked surprisingly well.
  8. You must have skipped the 'Evening With Wilco' tour. What do you want Jeff & Co to do, crawl out of U2's giant spaceship after Nick Lowe finished his set? Not me, I like their live show just fine. Ahh, whatever. These guys are boring as stage full of grannies, and that's okay with me...
  9. Cutty... Rest In Peace our furry friend.
  10. House music in between bands at the Tralf in Buffalo, NY last night was, in order... Candy Floss, IATTBYH, Summerteeth, I'm Always in Love, Pieholden Suite, Jesus, etc, and Can't Stand It. I wanted to give whoever was in charge a big hug. Made my night - and the bands were great too!
  11. Then we all would feel the secrets of the semen.
  12. Try to down play, bein' up tight. From Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway (Again) The way Jeff's voice sounds when he sings "play". Just a sprinkle of delay/reverb/somethin' - whatever. It's total ear-candy.
  13. From Wilco's FB page... In response to questions re: the band and/or Jeff's thoughts on Occupy Wall Street, we rang Mr. Tweedy today and asked. His comment: "Occupy Wall Street is the best example of democracy in action we've seen around here in a long time. I'm inspired by their willingness to stand up and make themselves heard. I really hope it continues to grow and spread and inspires you, too. History shows pretty consistently that no positive change comes from people sitting on their asses."
  14. Score... Next on the list is the All Over The Place EP. One hundred buckaroo's on eBay, no thanks. Not even for the "white hen" version of The Lonely 1.
  15. Not commercially... But well, you know, get it below. http://www.themidnightcafe.org/?p=2286
  16. Message From Mid-Bar reminds me of Comment (If All Men Are Truly Brothers) at the end of Kicking Television. Evokes a gospel-like feeling, like Jeff is preaching "Anyways the point is things can always be worse, when you don't have a chorus, it's verse after verse after verse". Not like that's a bad thing, when I first got KT I just sat and listened to Comment on repeat, great version of the song. I'd love to see it performed live.
  17. Mine was delivered today also, except I forgot to change my address for school and sent the CD back home a couple hours away. Shit! No early listen to the bonus tracks for me...
  18. A PM would be much appreciated over here too iffin' a rip is actually floating around. On another note, Bob is back to Buck.
