Two excellent choices as far as I'm concerned. To add to the list:- That and the preceeding 'Escapade' got alot of playing time back then. Production sounds a bit heavy now. Only ever had the single - 6 months in a leaky boat Message to my girl

Will be watching:- HAMMER AND TICKLE - Tue 10 Oct http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries...er-tickle.shtml Ben Lewis' funny and insightful feature-length documentary tells the real history of communism through jokes - the language of truth during the regime in the Soviet Union. Lots of jokes, lots of drinking, and lots of sex - the three things the Communist authorities could never stamp out. Storyville is a great umbrella for lots of good stuff. They even showed IATTBYH once.

First one recommended - our usual starting point for office parties etc. All close to the gig. Take your pick. http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub1264.html http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub3120.html http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub601.html Off topic - but as has been said, if it just the few of us rattling around now, who cares!

The answer is: Fan-bloody-tastic! Much better with Biggie Tembo than after he left. Jit is good time Zimbabwean pop with pulsating captivating rhythms and soaring guitar accompanyment - though often dealing with serious issues in the lyrics all the same. I suppose the closest African music came to universal coverage was via some of the tracks on Paul Simon's Graceland album, though that was South Africa rather than Zimbabwe, and a very watered down turgid affair compared to the original sort of stuff here. You will not be able to keep still. I have never really been into hip-hop/rap etc. -

That's the hope. No other news posted here that I've seen. All in all I'd say we had been pretty lucky as far as Wilco is concerned (compared to some parts of the US, not to mention some Australian fans I could mention). It's been a while now, but there was the solo JT show last November which counted for alot as far as I'm concerned (and maybe JT even likes London now after that ). Nothing more could/can really be expected until the new album comes out.

Definitely http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/146113/-/Pr...;searchsource=0 Not sure about a US version (PAL/NTSC etc.). I find it strange that your DVD players are still one region. Here they're just about all universal now, and in the past you could always slip the shop assistant a few extra quid and get a 'chipped' one. Must be the power of the Hollywood film companies.

(1) Autobiography. Don't believe he's done one before. Looking forward to the 99 tales:- Also I can remember that being on the news. (2) Yes - acts of God permitting. It's Friday 3rd Nov.

There were a few funny bits in those extracts. I actually found him a bit annoying in the last Himalayas series - didn't interact with the locals very well. I think he's best on the travelogues when in adversity, and that trip was just too comfortable/organised. Also, I can take orders on signed copies of the JPR book if you want Christmas present ideas. I think it's out about a week before the signing, so I'll have a chance to skim and check it out.

They've got No 1 single and album over here. The single is pure pop, but I think that the general consensus is that this time around they are trying too hard and everything is a bit formulaic. I have not heard the album - just going on reviews and stuff I've seen. Still seems to be selling bucketloads though. I liked about 2 or 3 tracks off the first album. Nothing wrong with a frivolous good time night out, but I would have a better time with Jenny Lewis myself.

Been there, done that. Err, I mean, not the llama.

What's that - a German trying to cash in on the Guinness trade? Anyway, Damien Dempsey = solid stuff
