  1. That would be jumping on the bandwagon a bit. As George Bush observed during the 2000 presidential campaign: "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

  3. I will look out for this. I always thought Tusk was a brave departure and liked it whilst being mainly caught up in New Wave at the time.
  4. 664 - the neighbour of the beast
  5. This sort of poster? That is smart (and I say that as someone who really doesn't generally get worked up about concert posters). Some more evidence for the optimistic:- I have seem one web site listing it as 'Islington' now, so just maybe I was right. You geographically challenged Americans!
  6. Good one! Shame about the abbreviated set Thanks for the report! I'll try and see if he remembers you, though what with needing to beat the public transport curfews, I've never actually hung around to meet anyone after a show. Must brush up on my charades * if talking is a no-no. Maybe if I bring two pairs of flags we can do semaphore. * I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue is a long-time favourite of mine. I think any JoJo fan would would be on the same wavelength. Well someone's got my money, though I haven't got a ticket yet. Union Chapel - it's still listed here http://www.unionc
  7. Funnily enough, that's the first place that came in to my head when I started reading, but I never thought it would actually be in the list. There was another place I used to frequent too, but I can't remember the name now. They don't mention the Hayes/David Morgans redevelopment, so maybe it will survive. A while ago I was browsing the Rough Trade website and they had a selection on 'celebrity shoppers' - staff remembering incidents through the years. I can't find it now, but the best one was a young over-zealous guy on the counter being stopped in his tracks by a surly Van Morrison replyin
  8. This was introduced as a 'new song' when I saw her, and was possibly my favourite of the night. Like you said, there's plenty to anticipate for a follow up album.
  9. I couldn't believe my eyes - a solid lineout! Whatever next? Blair looks like the assured sort of player we need. Saw Llanelli on digital BBC2 yesterday also, but that was a game of fits and starts. Apparently Cardiff at Saracens will be shown the same way next Sunday - 'BBC2 digital interactive' - press red button when at normal digital BBC2.
  10. I know what you're going through. Try and keep it together for your Dad's sake, and seek comfort in your family and the fond memories. Andrew
  11. Wow, that's like a critical mass of pre-performance nerves. I feel anxious myself just thinking about it
  12. I think it was. It's certainly not the show it was without Simon what's his face. I'm lucky if I scan it whilst having a Saturday morning cuppa. NP:
  13. Saw half of them on some TV interview the other day. They seemed so dull and lifeless I have no desire to pursue their music any further than the roughly a third of the first album that was borderline OK for me. P.S. Any personel epiphany on the Midlake issue whilst on holiday?
  14. The first I've never heard of, the second seemed like alot of fun live (judging by TV festival coverage this summer - occassional Mum on spoons!) but I'm not sure how well it would translate to the staid confines of an album. I actually just missed them after the VC Elbow Summit in March made it late out from the pub (they were first in a 4 act night).
  15. Sure it wasn't just a nine beat count-in? Also, how was MMJ at the Astoria - weren't you planning on going?
  16. That's a big burrito. Is it like one of those Redwoods at Sequoia? So you did hook up at the clock yesterday after all?
  17. Am I the only person who always smiles whenever I hear this? I'm a sucker for some sleigh bells. And, judging from this, a simpleton. AM - don't have it. I know the ones I like from live shows, but have not heard all to choose a least favourite. This is intentional. To buy it now would be to admit an addiction. Far, Far Away Unwelcome Guest (that's a tough call) How To Fight Loneliness Airline to Heaven I Am Trying To Break Your Heart (obvious, but no less affecting every time I hear it) Muzzle Of Bees
  18. We have a similar saying for rugby (N.B. rugby union in Wales has entirely different connotations than in England - not sure where it is in the Australian class system - maybe more like rugby league in Australia). I get to watch some Aussie Rules from time to time over here on odd TV spots. I used to work with a couple of people from Melbourne, which is Aussie Rules central, is it not? Do they still have those annual Gaelic Football v. Aussie Rules matchespunchups? I only saw a few years ago. Now that was entertaining!
  19. "one of those incredible gigs that stay with you for long long time" Great when that happens (especially as you're a big fan and he can be a bit unpredictable?). I'll check out the photos at home tonight.
