  2. Mojo - 4 stars Wilco Star WarsdBpm |CD/DL/LP Jeff Tweedy’s men channel the force as they release their ninth studio album, complete with inscrutable title. By Chris Nelson July 21, 2015 WHETHER YOU TAKE your Wilco ruminative or raucous, there’s plenty to soak in here. In fact, the two strands often intertwine, as when the melody behind More… pulses like an ambulance siren but somehow still soothes. Star Wars confirms that Wilco now fully own a unique American noise wherein nothing is wholly traditional or wholly experimental. But if the band’s own sense of self is stalwart, the characters th
  3. This is definitely an angels on the head of a pin conversation, as it's all pretty relative when the vast majority of the albums are obviously at a pretty high level (though there's always something I can't stomach on each of them but that's just me). I did want to say firstly though that it is very strange/fascinating to me how fans of the same act can be so diverse. I don't know whether that exists for other bands? I have no experience to tell. Probably a function of how varied Wilco's output has been. Which brings me on to my second comment. The variety of TWL is precisely what I like abou

  5. Rock'n'Roll America 3 x 1 hour lightening tour of the history of rock'n'roll in the 50s and early 60s. Nothing too new to me (except the original lyrics to Tutti Frutti) and way too little time, but great to see and hear some of the tales from new interviews with the talking heads who were there and won't be around much longer - Don Everly, Jerry Lee, members of the Crickets and Presley's band, etc. http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/jul/11/rock-n-roll-america-review-elvis-presley-pat-boone-jerry-lee-lewis

  7. Iguazu Falls - Make sure you visit from both sides: Brazil and Argentina. Brazil is the best sides for activities, Argentina for the best view. Tikal Guatemala - Definitely.
  8. There's 1 hour 40 minutes (a few songs are missed out) of this on a certain online video site with good steady fixed camera angle and good sound. I particularly enjoyed the guitar nerd interaction described in Banter Corner above. It goes on for quite a while and JT's comic timing in reeling of a seemingly endless list of guitar nerd facts was top notch.

  11. Wilco definitely have a UK mole at the Guardian. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jun/29/solid-sound-review-wilco-jeff-tweedy-mac-demarco
  12. Previous interviews are there now. They may put todays in the same place ... http://wamc.org/search/google/wilco?query=wilco&cx=010251366440257945544%3Ajp6hq5g7clk&cof=FORID%3A11&sitesearch=#stream/0
  13. http://wamc.org/post/your-new-best-friends-jeff-and-spencer-tweedy-solid-sound#stream/0 Quite a few past interviews there too that I had not heard:- http://wamc.org/search/google/wilco%20tweedy?query=wilco%20tweedy&cx=010251366440257945544%3Ajp6hq5g7clk&cof=FORID%3A11&sitesearch=#stream/0
  14. The Guardian comes up with some random coverage in the UK. Nothing too dramatic but the last line is nice. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jun/25/wilco-solid-sound-festival-daydream

  18. http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/theatre/beatles-abbey-road-sessions-recreated-for-new-show-at-royal-albert-hall-10336928.html Something a bit different though I can't say I'm that interested in going. £55 a pop. I did get to go inside Abbey Road once. They should get those guys who recreated the second side of the Abbey Road album - someone put a link here to their video a while back I think. Will they have Yoko sitting in the corner knitting? Also, new Allen Klein book apparently. http://www.salon.com/2015/06/21/the_prize_when_news_of_the_beatles_imminent_financial_danger_spread
  19. Available at the bottom of the vimeo page under a heading of 'Extras' last time I looked yesterday.
  20. You know, I probably won't. I would have bought an extras film of rehearsal/DVD footage - I did see the extras trailer and that looked great, but I can't get too excited about the actual film. I think you had to be there for it to be a nice souvenir since there is a lot of stuff I am not that interested in. Someone offered to PM me the answer to the last cover, so that will put me out of my misery later :-) Just curious about that in case it was something I requested and/or why it did not make the cut depending on what it was.
  21. So, what's this last cover then? ... and there are extras (was also surprised to see Pat have a bit of a strop in the trailer) - is that a separate download? Available yet? Is there a description of what it contains? Questions, questions ...
