Yes, and so close after the death of Jerry Collins too. Met him once at a reception for the Barbarian team in the late noughties (company I worked for sponsored them at that time). A sense of emptiness this morning as this great tournament has come to an end with what has generally been acknowledged to be the best ever final. From the glorious Japanese win on the first weekend to Saturdays fairy tale farewell to the All Black greats of Dan Carter and Ritchie McCaw it has been enthralling.
