  1. Any reports on this yet please? I'm primarily interested in getting a feel for the percentage of time that Wilco actually feature - either in concert footage or rehearsal, or any Wilco-related interview/banter etc. I was always hoping that the project might be released as 'the film' and then an extras bundle with all the Wilco stuff they shot, but given the streamed release that's not going to happen. So, basically I'm dithering as to whether I need to go for this.
  2. http://www.stereogum.com/1809208/watch-members-of-wilco-shellac-american-football-more-join-wire-on-pink-flag/video/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPG6tIcUOeA Well, it's no Rockestra Theme ... and I'm not sure I can spot a member of Wilco in the video.
  3. I think this might be the Loft visit article available online now http://www.fretboardjournal.com/features/magazine/inside-wilcos-loft

  5. A breakfast prize. http://wrsi.com/2015/05/26/want-to-have-breakfast-with-wilco/ Breakfast is my favourite meal. Always hungry in the morning and tea and toast never gets old.
  6. Ha! I am talking about the RUGBY world cup :-) I am afraid that I cannot watch womens football. There are plenty of sports where women excel and could compete with men, but in football they always look worse than a local pub team. These days I can barely stand mens footbal either it has to be said. The money has corrupted the mentality of the players and the game suffers as a result. Play acting, beratting the referee. Have you ever heard a wired up rugby ref talking with the players. They don't stand any nonsense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YUF9LSXAkY
  7. Much more interested in the World Cup 2015
  8. Long: About 800 to Santiago in north west Spain Short: Usually about 15 miles for London shows, but it's public transport so feels like 150. There was one JT solo show at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass where thanks to a kind friend I got put up about a mile away, though there was a twisty path through the woods that might have added a few yards.. Edit - I suppose I'm only counting distance traveled that day (Travelling to Spain was all in one day), but the London to SF was longer if that rule does not apply (though I was not travelling solely to see JT so perhaps that counts against it).

  10. So, turns out I saw the rehearsal. AN hour later then did it again for live TV. They sounded better when I saw them :-) http://www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain/entertainment/the-beach-boys-bring-some-california-sunshine
  11. Half way through and this refreshingly different series is still producing the goods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE1nsOoTJos
  12. Walking along the Thames embankment as part of my daily commute - past the ITV studios. A small stage was set up for an outside broadcast piece from the Beachboys (w/o/ Brian). Just as I was passing they got on stage goofing around for a couple of minutes while waiting for their cue, then they performed California Girls - live vocals and a couple of turned down guitars to a backing track. A little crowd of around 50 or 60 had gathered. A couple of the guys from Brian's backing band are performing with them. Sounded good and a better than usual way to start the week. I had seen Brian a couple o
  13. Presumably in the best category:- http://www.nme.com/photos/keeping-it-in-the-family-20-of-the-best-and-worst-collaborations-between-musicians-and-their-kids/378998 Not an earthshattering article, but I posted it because of the errors. The Tweeds made a album, and I liked the idea of "Spencer putting collage on hold to live the indie dream". I wonder how long it will take them to make the corrections.
  14. In my teens I thought that I would make a great quality controller for Paul McCartney. As my younger years I used to go underneath the stairs and pray for Wales to win in the rugby before games. I also believed that if I blinked a the split second the opposition kicker took a penalty or conversion they would miss. I still do that out of habit. It is surpisingly effective.
  15. Heard about an upcoming documentary film about Kit Lambert and the other guy. Googling produced this amongst other hits:- http://www.mojo4music.com/20254/the-who-managers-exposed-in-new-documentary/
  16. Guilty Pleasures - Luxury in Ancient Greece Tales from the Tour Bus : Rock'n'Roll on the Road - presented by the affable Rick Wakeman. Some great footage.

  18. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell 1864 - new Danish epic historical drama series The Game = Spooks in the 1970s Frankie Boyle's Election Autopsy Anyone not familiar with Scottish potty mouth Frankie Boyle should check him out.
  19. New album out now - he's been looking and sounding good on Jools Holland and a live Radio2 In Concert session on TV this week. http://youtu.be/w8dhvMNATE0 Also, the last time I was in Woking walking from a local garage to the shopping centre I founf myself in Stanley Road by accident.
  20. My work colleague just arrived and told me this. My response (which I'm quite proud of): "So, for once, he didn't wake up this morning". A bit of British black humour there. Seriously though, bad bad news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqUhdBAJfsk
  21. Greetings to the "old contemptibles" queuing this morning. Hope your requests are good ones and get played
