  1. Indeed. Just been listening to some now. Sounds great - band (with Sima a big plus) and recording. Thanks.
  2. Love Will Tear Us Apart, or since it was not the greatest version on the night, probably Teenage Kicks nicks it.
  3. Does this work for you? http://www.putlocker.sh/watch-the-strypes-best-thing-since-cavan-online-free-2015-putlocker.html There was a sense of melancholy towards the end. Time will tell how it works out for them.
  4. There is a video on YouTube of it now, but not with God in the title. Also this, more for the photos than the words. http://www.oregonlive.com/music/index.ssf/2015/03/live_review_tweedy_sukierae_crystal_ballroom.html
  5. Any variations during God? Don't believe in Wilco? Just believe in me, ??? and me? etc. Given JT has done it a few times, is there a 'standard' JT version of variations?
  6. Perhaps their brief bubble of hype has burst (at least in the UK as I think they've been spending more time in the US recently), and i've said before that their first album was let down by some patchy self titled numbers, but I very much enjoyed watching Julian Temple's music doc on BBC4 last night. You can tell what he thinks about them given the pedigree of subjects for his previous films. Such nice lads and I so love the enthusiasm in what they do. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02lr1dm All part of Last nights 'Irish rock night' on BBC4. Stll need to watch their tale of 2 cities doc r
  7. Thanks people. Watching now to chill after the tension of the Wales Ireland game. Nice to hear the Neil Young cover for the first time.
  8. When I try to watch a rerun now I get 'error'. Is it available for replay at all, or maybe its blocked outside the US. Anything new/funny?
  9. Particularly fine reportage - Ta. Also enjoyed your use of the word 'chagrin' a day or so ago.

  11. Agree on the last part. I look forward to your reports. Must crack on with work now. Goodnight!
  12. I shall not be attending, but there will be a corner of a foreign factory yard that is forever banter. Actually apart from the impractically of particular domestic and employment arrangements, I think I'd suffer a reaction to such an overtly 'arty' place. I prefer some craftsmanship in art (or an actual truly interesting idea that is all too rare in the vast majority of modern art in my opinion). Not to mention all the poncey beer concessions. Plus all those gushing Wilco fans ... Edit. Based on a vague memory from 1981, I can recommend King Sunny Ade. Take your dancing pumps.
  13. Streaming for one day only http://www.louvinfilm.com
  14. Nels Cline and Norman Wisdom would be worth travelling to see. http://youtu.be/kColMK9r99Y A missed opportunity.
  15. Today is the big one, which is not usually a Friday.

  17. A few photo galleries here:- http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/jeff-tweedy-performs-on-stage-at-celtic-connections-news-photo/462491426
  18. Someone has transcribed what Mike Skinner said http://abbeyrd.proboards.com/thread/5186/john-meant-paul-day-murdered#ixzz3OiukV4LF He has definitely spoken about being the first person to pass on the news to Macca before:- http://www.macca-central.com/news/2648 - but did not mention this extra information then. Really need to hear him questioned about it further ...
  19. FYI - Free podcasts of Lennon interviews available from iTunes. 1 from 1980 A series (about 2 hours in total) from Rolling Stone interviews in 1970 (I think)
  20. Didn't hear about that in December. It sounds like the semi-famous (here) Portsmouth Sinfonia Orchestra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_Sinfonia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpJ6anurfuw
  21. http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/this-time-it-s-personal-the-tweedy-family-album-1.2081144 Some reaffirmation:-
  22. Turned out to be pretty interesting. Who knew the Nazis and Bing Crosby would be responsible for the recording industry as we know it. 10 minutes on Brian Wilson recording Good Vibrations with the Wrecking Crew, and the last 10 minutes on the Beatles.
  23. The latest series of French police drama 'Spiral'. Wolf Hall - makes The Tudors look like the crap it was. And this tonight on iPlayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04z23vl
