  1. Yeah, I hoping that the remaining songs that haven't appeared on those two Tweedy Roadcase shows might appear in some potential future Tweedy Roadcase show(s) from this Autumnal leg (hoping the new cover "Love Like A Wire" makes it there too- but more about that one later on in this post)...it'll be interesting to see if he/they add(s) any more songs to the set list (they've done the vast majority, 16 of 20)... The Washington D.C. Roadcase show will showcase 15 songs from the album. The tour opening Detroit show offers 14 & they are all repeats from the D.C. show. BTW it's a truly great
  2. Lyrics have appeared online for all almost all of the pre-order downloads (on Zumic.com)- the exception being "I'll Sing It" (which they link to, but lyriclessly so...)...as always, the lyrics are a great read!! As favorite a songwriter as I have, & have ever had...love some as much of course, but he's in that absolute rarefied top tier... 1) "Summer Noon" Summer noon I can always stay To radiate what the cello can’t play She spoke to me and provoked my band And I broke in two in the heat of her hand Like a lioness or a coyote At a pink beating heart in the balcony I followed the finger
  3. Yeah, can't recall all the details...but there were Jeff solo Roadcase shows where all the songs from WTA were removed, & in at least one case, that was a fairly substantial part of the show, resulting in an oddly short show... and I think someone here mentioned actually yelling something to him at some point & him alluding to some weird legal copyright thing or something... I'm sure it'll get worked out eventually, but it is odd & I imagine frustrating for him/them...
  4. Like the thread title says. I'm looking for one GA Floor Ticket for Port Chester on the 29th for sure. I might have an extra GA Floor ticket for Port Chester on the 30th, but I'm not sure yet. I won't post about the extra in the "Got Extras" section here until I'm sure. Typo in title PLEASE DELETE...thanks!

  6. I saw them at all three shows in NYC in July 2012 & they tended to repeat 9 songs a night, with 18 fresh songs each show- a 1/3 to 2/3 mix. I went back to a post I did after the last gig there to garner most of what follow here...My one liner on it was this: "I could spend three nights, and sixty-three songs, on a Riot 'O Rock 'n' Roll yeah, of ultimate Wilco-ness!" That trio of NYC shows is something that I hoped would be a precedent. Like the five they did in Dec. of 2011 in Chicago. I hope these are half as much fun for them as they are for the die-hard faithful, & I'm betting the
  7. What tickets do you have for Weds.? I'm looking for Weds. GA floor tickets myself (actually just one right now). Let's stay in touch on all of this. Also since I'm also going for Thursday tickets what are you looking for, & how many? If I get in to get for Thursday, I'd be glad to get for me & you both. I'm hoping to go with a certain someone, but she has a 9 year old (& one in college), & that means school night issues. So I'm doubtful. I'm just getting for myself right now, but I have a few friends, her included, who I know will try to manage a night or two for this run, if
  8. Right On for the 30th!!! So I know my hopes for a 4th show on the 27th are unlikely, but I truly believe they could sell it out for a 4th date. Last time they were in the NYC area they sold out Prospect Park for two nights (5,000 capacity X 2 = 10,000) & Terminal Five (3,000 capacity = 13,000 total for last NYC run) for the other. That's certainly more than 4 nights at the Cap (1,800 capacity X 4 = 7,200 vs. 13,000 for last NYC area run) even though the Cap isn't NYC proper you're still drawing from that tri-state population density. So we got a shot at the pre-sale at 10:00 & then t

  10. Two new questions.... 1) Does the advertised phrase "An Evening With Wilco" being applied to the recent spat of 20th Anniversary shows mean that we'll get shows similar in length & content to the last time it was used? I believe that was 2009 if I'm correct, where an "An Evening With Wilco" show meant the longest shows they've ever done (mini-acoustic sets & horn sections, etc.?). One can hope, that's for sure...a 3+ hour Wilco show, with three dozen, or more songs on the set list would be pretty amazing indeed. 2) Does anyone think they might add a small group of shows (like the rec

  12. Not yet... I'd love to see lots of that album showing up in the sets of the upcoming "An Evening With Wilco" shows...
  13. Can't wait for those Port Chester shows now!! That was a fantastic set! (BTW both Ohio shows I saw, Akron & Columbus, were terrific too)..but first... Tweedy/Jeff Tweedy in Ithaca & Buffalo in a few weeks!!
  14. I got my ticket for night one a good 40 minutes after the sale started & I always stay on with Front Gate until I see they are all sold out because I know what a mess they are... I stayed on this time until the bitter end... I was on here complaining fast because the level of screw up (also experienced by "tweety" here too) was outrageous & had happened to both myself & the other person who was trying to help me get tickets...we both got tickets, were into the process & were logged out by Front Gate in the middle of the purchase...
  15. THIS is exactly what I was talking about. A friend & I did the same thing...constantly refreshing the screen, on their the second they went on sale...and, again, the same thing, I got to where I should have been able to order the tickets & then it, for no good reasons, logged me out & dumped my tickets...this happened more than once, & to my friend as well...who was laughing at how horrible they were. I usually work with someone else when getting Wilco pre-sale tickets, & she hates Front Gate too...but today it was someone knew & they were shocked at how insane &
  16. No, it's not supply & demand & how crappy their website works. If you'd bothered to read my whole post you'd have noted that I wrote about just some of the bizarre & arbitrary things that occured there...being logged out, having it appear that you have tickets & then not being able to complete the order...things like that...Me & "last cigarette" & "tweety" are all on the same page on this one- hate Front Gate...
  17. My friend & I both tried & got shut out for everything. Once again I must say that I really hate Front Gate Tickets... I got one GA for the first night. They still show tickets available but you can't purchase them...also it took me to the second screen to "purchase" repeatedly, & then sent me back...it also logged me out, for no reason, more than once...the same crap was happening to my friend...I'm still on there trying for anything, but what a stinkin' mess these guys are... Did I mention that I hate Front Gate Tickets
  18. Are all Front Gate Tickets "Will Call". I have a friend who was going to try & help me get Port Chester tickets today, but they can't actually go to the show. Will I be able to show up with their credit card & a receipt of the purchase & get those tickets, or not?...sadly Front Gate doesn't open until exactly the time that tickets go on sale today
  19. WA-HOO! The rarities thing is a Box Set (knew it had to be)...and two dates in Port Chester, NY!! Just sad they are on weekdays as that is going to make it really tough for lots of folks I know to even consider it. Gotta believe there will dates in Chicago nearer to Xmas...wishing that would apply to NYC too (and/or L.A., but who knows)... Two Wilco shows in Ohio this Weds. & Thurs. & then two more in October!! And a Box Set of rarities to boot!! Will see what's on the greatest hits too...never know about oddities tracks there too...
  20. I read the article today. Nice piece...and some interesting news I hadn't seen elsewehere... That later this year, after "Sukirae" by Tweedy comes out, there's supposed to be an album of Wilco rarities set for release. I'm betting nearer to the holiday season & I hope it's a multiple CD set- don't imagine it'll be just a single CD...hoping for a box set myself!!
  21. Yeah, I tracked down the album pretty quickly. Fascinating artist. I just wondered if anyone had ever seen her live, or knew more about her than was up on the net. It looks like there were/are plans to release more of her material in conjunction with the final release of the film "Black & Gold". I wonder if "Love Like A Wire" will be on there. While I honestly can't imagine hearing a better version than Tweedy's/Jeff's, I would still love to hear her original version too.
  22. "Love Like A Wire" is a truly great performance of a truly great song... dig in here... http://sooutoftune.org/concerts/1224
