  1. I really hope so too!!! I'm really hoping for two nights of Wilco & TWEEDY on Sunday!! Someone on the Steve Hoffman Music Forum just posted that Richard Thompson is recording his next album with the same band, an electric trio, as he toured with last (great band BTW)...but...I'm still hoping for some guest star spots from members of Wilco. As far as Solid Sound goes I'm now guessing that we'll get an Richard Thompson Band electric trio show with some guest starring from at least Nels Cline & Jeff Tweedy, then I'm sure he'll sit in with Wilco some, & I'm really, really hoping that
  2. Someone else here just posted that Richard is recording his next album with the same band, an electric trio, as he toured with last (great band BTW)...but...I'm still hoping for some guest star spots from members of Wilco. For Solid Sound I'm guessing that we'll get an Richard Thompson Band electric trio show with some guest starring from at least Nels Cline & Jeff Tweedy, then I'm sure he'll sit in with Wilco some, & I'm hoping that he might also play an acoustic set there as well. My fave works of Thompson's are his albums with Linda. I love the solo material, but generally the e
  3. The great hope that there would have been some kind of a compilation Roadcase Release from Wilco's many & varied AmericanaramA performances, especially the various incredible collaborations/guest stars (Richard Thompson, Ian Hunter, Beck, Bob Weir, Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto, Feist, Warren Haynes, My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan etc., etc.) just never materialized. So, outside of any recordings that are being traded about out there (might be around, don't know, others feel free to chime in here) this is all they we've got of any footage of Wilco & Richard Thompson together on that tour. "Sl
  4. Jeff Tweedy is now producing the next Richard Thompson album. According the Richard's Facebook page they are recording at The Loft right now & according to The Loft's Facebook page someone who's playing there right now is utilizing an Orange Morgan TV12 combo amp. That is one beautiful & lucky amp. I'd say this news bodes pretty well for the line-up at Solid Sound 2015!!!! I'd love him to headline the 3rd day with Wilco as his backing band!!!! Love to see him play both electric & acoustic sets too. Yo La Tengo played twice (one standard & once as a live soundtrack to a film) w
  5. Wilco/Jeff Tweedy & Richard Thompson are two of my favorite artists ever. I was lucky enough to have caught the last two in Clarkston, MI & Toronto, ON. They did "California Stars" & an absolutely epic & mind blowing version of Richard's old Fairport Convention classic "Sloth", with Richard & Nels trading & intertwining solos that were just mind blowing...then in Toronto they also did Richard's old Fairport Convention days arrangement of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" with Jeff & Feist singing the Ian Matthews & Sandy Denny parts of that duet arrangement. And in Clar
  6. 1) Wilco: 3 nights of 20th Anniversary Port Chester Oct. shows > 2 Ohio Sept. shows (Columbus & Akron) 2) Jeff Tweedy: solo acoustic all-request at The Vic, Night 2 > Night 1 3) Tweedy/ Jeff Tweedy Washington, DC & Buffalo > Baltimore & Ithaca 4) Yo La Tengo: 30th Anniversary Shows NYC, Night 2 > Night 1 5) St. Vincent: London (Ontario, Canada) > Akron > Buffalo 6) Donna The Buffalo: Blue Heron Fest> Rochester Public Market > Rochester Water Street > Grassroots Fest 7) Tedeschi-Trucks Band: Buffalo > Rochester > Syracuse 8) Television: Toronto Ther
  7. Thanks! That's what I kind of figured. Yeah, for those that have, or went to that show, they might prefer those versions. I'll revise my first post here with that pertinent info. Thanks to both you & "SarahC" for pointing it out & clarifying the situation fully for me. Because they did both of those during both the Port Chester & Chicago/Winterlude shows, getting Knoxville for me would be a show of all repeats, & all hootenanny repeats, so I'll probably pass...others might feel otherwise. I'll be curious to see, as the 20th Anniversary Shows continue, if they do add any diffe
  8. Which ones were "hootenanny" style in Knoxville? I see two sets of encores... I'm guessing the second set? I may be wrong, but I guess that "Impossible Germany" & "The Lonely 1" were the standard full band versions. Although these ("Misunderstood" & "California Stars") do repeat what was done at both the Port Chester & the Chicago/Winterlude shows, folks might want to add these third versions & jettison some of the other repeats that cross over between Port Chester & Chicago Winterlude (Give Back The Key To My Heart-twice, Too Far Apart, True Love Will Find You In The End
  9. It was very easy with iTunes... Took me very little time to set up the playlists... a couple of minutes total actually. If you are at all familiar with iTunes, it's a pretty simple process.
  10. Here's how my 2 CD-R's worked out...I ended up choosing to drop the audience sung "Ripple" as cool as it was. Others might choose to drop the two extra versions of "Give Back The Key To My Heart"- it appears here on VOLUME I from the Chicago Winterlude shows, & then again twice from Port Chester on VOLUME II (the only song repeated in the whole Port Chester run). Arrange 'em however it works best for you... collect 'em all, mix 'em up different ways, trade 'em with your friends... enjoy! VOLUME I (79 minutes & 21 songs): (16 Winterlude Encore songs from Nights 1-4, 4 songs a night, r
  11. OK here is the raw material below for creating a great Virtual 2 CD-R "Wilco 20th Anniversary Unplugged" set. In the next post I'll give you my recipe for how I ended up doing a 2 CD set of 79 minute CD's. Luckily it just worked out pretty easily...arrange 'em however you want. So we are working with the 3 Port Chester, NY shows (#37-39) & the 6 Chicago Winterlude shows (#40-45). The Knoxville show (#36) had two hootenanny encore songs- "Misunderstood" & "California Stars"- both of which were repeated at both the Port Chester & Winterlude/Chicago shows...folks who would want to ad
  12. All of the 6 Chicago Winterlude show Roadcase downloads are now available (#40-#45)!!!!
  13. Downloading the Winterlude shows now... all six working fine...long way to go with the downloading process itself...but nice way to end the year & get this surprise at the end of Yule!!
  14. The Roadcase of it should be out any day now. They are usually released 2 to 3 weeks after the show, & today marks the two week mark... so I'm hoping before Xmas, but at least by the end of Yule (Jan 2nd).
  15. I still feel, quite strongly, that, along with "St. Vincent" by St. Vincent, that it's one of the two albums that towers above everything else as as great a release as there was this year. It's not doing badly in year end lists, but it's not doing anywhere near as well as it should, considering how great it is. A truly monumental double album!!! I'm very excited that Jeff mentioned in one of those U.K. interviews that he & Spencer have mixed another Tweedy album already (I'm assuming with tracks left over from all they recorded...heck 3 non-album tracks have surfaced out here already- B-s
  16. Wow, great call on that aspect as well. I recall they did a similar thing with an art installation that also involved a book & CD, all entitled "Mekons United" back in 1996. Great idea!!! Viva Mekons!!!
  17. The Mekons would be incredible!!! Great idea!!! They play very infrequently as a full band anymore...but any of the band members/their projects would be great!!! The Mekons would be as great a choice as I can think of...right up there with Richard Thompson, Television, etc.... and Yo La Tengo from 2013!!

  21. First of all, to whet your appetites for the forthcoming Roadcase releases of all the Winterlude shows, the WXRT broadcast of Night #2 is now up to listen to on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYJWdMnJTyc Second...So now we gotta find out who is gonna do the leg work to find out which Roadcase shows these 16 missing songs are on? If, in fact, they all are. Soon enough I'm sure, all the Wilco catalog will have live version of te songs out there...very cool!!! And remember before the official Roadcase releases there were donation/free downloads of two shows from 2009 to raise money f
  22. They did 4 of the 5 pretty regularly on the tour for the album- they did the whole album, save for "Sunloathe"...I saw them do "Black Moon", "Red Lung Rising" & "Capitol City" myself- still haven't seen "Open Mind" yet. Look what they did over those 6 nights (on paper since I haven't heard them yet, but judging by the 3 Port Chester shows I did see...) looks like it was probably about as great a live run as I can think of, by anyone, ever. So remember that, as I say this... If they were going to run short on any album, I wish it hadn't been "The Whole Love" as it's probably still my person
  23. setlist.fm (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wilco/2014/riviera-theater-chicago-il-43cd27c3.html) has the set list for Night 6 up now, & outside of the hootenanny set & "Far Far Away" & "Blood Of The Lamb" it's all repeats...so a bit less exciting as a download, but I'll get it just to have all six of these & because it looks like a pretty amazing show nonetheless...Here it is... Red-Eyed and Blue I Got You (At the End of the Century) Secret of the Sea (Billy Bragg & Wilco cover) Too Far Apart Via Chicago Bull Black Nova Blood of the Lamb (Billy Bragg &a
  24. They did it with Weir first, but... I saw them do it two other times. In New York with Sean Lennon, Beck & Cibo Matto all on stage (it followed "Yer Blues" & Beck also did "I Am The Cosmos" with them that night too), and, best of all, I saw them do it in Michigan with Richard Thompson sharing vocals with Jeff & lead guitar with Nels, right after they'd done a 15+ minute workout on Thompson's "Sloth". Mind blowing!!! They did it a few times on the AmericanaramA tour... my bet is that it was one of the songs they had in the running for the all-covers night at Solid Sound, but that
