  1. They also did Shrug & Destroy at the Fillmore
  2. They played most of Schmilco at the Fillmore before DBT last night. Oddly enough what they did play was in shuffle.
  3. It will be tomorrow. It's my birthday and that's what they're getting me.
  4. I was surprised, too, and actually looked to see if they would switch back at Sound Summit with the old set up. Perhaps Jeff is being a bit of a contrarian and responded to the fan yelling "more bass" at Pritzker by supplying less bass ;-)
  5. Pat was playing John's pink Lakland with the lighthouse strap at the Madison and Chicago shows during Locator. He played one of his own guitars at the Fillmore shows. It was one of his Fender Telecasters IIRC. I actually looked to see if he was playing bass during Locator because it was so unexpected when I saw it in Madison.
  6. I impulse bought ticket during the resale but it looks like I can't go. One ticket Block 23, Row 2, Seat 14. This is second row on Nels' side. It's a PDF ticket and I can accept PayPal, Venmo or Chase QuickPay so this can be done online. I paid €49.55/$54.44 and am asking for that. Contact me at sandymelloy at gmail dot com or message me here if you're interested.
  7. I guess there is no shortage of cool kids that enjoy Wilco/Tweedy shows at The Fillmore. I'm so glad you made the trip up and that Elijah enjoyed the show. Seeing Jeff connect with him was one of the highlights of the show for me.
  8. Now I'm blushing! It was the least I could do after enjoying the hospitality of the Chicago locals on the sidewalk in front of the Vic on so many occasions. I'm glad I represented my beautiful city well
  9. Thank you bbop for your recap of this and all 5 nights from this Fillmore run. You perfectly described, not just the factual details of these shows, but the feel and the mood of the band, room and audience throughout this run. There were so many times I would read your recap the next day and think, "Yes! That's it exactly!" Thanks for giving us something to refer to when we want to be transported back to these 5 magical nights. The VC community is forever in your debt. As far as favorite moments from last night's show I love when Jeff asked that 10 year old how old he was and the kid respond
  10. bbop has given so much to this board and the VC community. It's time I help him out by filling in some of the details he may have omitted from last evening's recap. Before the third to last song of the main set Jeff introduced the song by stating that he had been incorrectly introducing the song as We Aren't the World and gave us the full title We Aren't The World (Safety Girl) "for those keeping score...Paul!" He then went on to say that Paul went to a lot of shows and that the band grew concerned if he wasn't in the audience. Jeff started recounting supposed band conversation that went al
  11. At the Fillmore waiting for the Jayhawks and Sky Blue Skyvis playing. Not the song, the entire record
  12. Hesitating Beauty at Walgreens this morning.
  13. Some of the Live Nation venues are decent and/or are on Wilco's past or current schedules. For example, all the Fillmores, all the House of Blues, Nob Hill Masonic, PNC Bank Arts Center, Alpine Valley, The Tabernacle, etc. It might not be a perfect settlement, but there are certainly places where bands you like are likely to perform.
  14. Pretty excited for this. Mt. Tam is one of my favorite places in the world, but I've never seen a show at Mountain Theater. And September is such a great time to be up there.
  15. The hotels are always pricier than normal in September and October because there are huge conventions in SF those months. There's a 16000 person convention that overlaps with these shows. Prices might drop at the last minute if rooms are unsold so, whatever you book, it's best to book something with a flexible cancellation policy. You might be able to get a better deal the week before. As others have mentioned, there are tons of Airbnbs here. Neighborhoods can change pretty quickly so if you have any questions about a place you're considering I'm happy to answer them.
  16. The Fillmore is such a great venue and I'm so grateful that they're playing so many night there! It's my favorite place to see a show. And I agree that the way it is run makes the experience that much better. Currently, the "Welcome to the Fillmore" person is a woman wearing a top hat. I've walked by her at great speed on many occasions. The apples are in a copper bucket at the top of the stairs rather than being handed out. And there are still free posters at most shows. Didn't they just play 4 shows in the NYC area in late Jan and early Feb? They haven't played a full show in SF except fo
  17. There was a 5-day ticket option for the Fillmore, which saved me a lot of time and stress. We actually ended up with an extra. So glad it's done!
  18. I think these restrictions are only at The Fillmore. They had the same restrictions at the Independent show last August. There were a few "my friend can't make it, my extra is $300" tickets listed on Craigslist like others have mentioned, but nothing on StubHub.
  19. The last few times it was STARWARS. It's probably the same this time. There's no Live Nation or promoter pre-sale for the Fillmore shows. I'm a little freaked out by having only one more chance and needing tickets for all five nights!
  20. They already did SW in SF at Outside Lands last year. I'm hoping there is a new record before the Fillmore shows and that new material gets incorporated into the sets. The fact that they are referring to the SF shows as a residency gives me hope that they're planning on mixing it up a bit. They haven't played a non-festival electric show here since 2012. The SF fans are so looking forward to these shows and are super grateful that we're getting 5 nights!
  21. If I remember correctly, they didn't. You had to buy for each show separately. A 5-day ticket would be ideal!
  22. The Cubs are playing day games on May 13-15th and the Terra Cotta Warrior exhibit at The Field Museum looks pretty good.
  23. Just for clarification I went to the "Glenn" show at SFJAZZ last night and Glenn isn't actually performing. It's Third Coast Percussion performing his composition Wild Sounds. I'm not sure if that's the case with the show at UC Davis, but it's worth checking into since both were listed on the Shows page on Glenn's website. Also Pat will be performing Big Star's Third with Mike Mills, Jody Stephens et al at The Fillmore in SF on April 24. No Jeff that night (at least not so far).
