It was a bust for me as well. Tried both presales, as well as today's sale. I got an ok not great ticket in the band presale. I know of only one fan who got pit tickets, but StubHub has several pit tickets for over $400. I spent three mornings clicking on pictures of street signs, boats and food to no avail. The bots won this round for sure. I'd love if a Saturday show was added, but I suspect it would be more of the same.

I'm was hoping to time a 2 week family visit to the NE at the same time as this show, but I have been know to get on a plane for a show from time to time. I pulled nothing worth buying this am. Hopefully the general on sale works out tomorrow.

I was thinking the same thing about Spain, but it could be that they can't announce dates there yet due to some contractual obligation to the festival promoters. Personally, if I have a choice between a festival in my town and a theater show an hour away I'd go to the theater show. Oh, who am I kidding? I'd go to both...

Pat is playing Big Star's Third with Mike Mills, Chuck Prophet, Kronos Quartet et al at Great American Music Hall in SF on Oct 1 and at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park presumably on Oct 2 (official schedule not released yet).

It must've been a demoralizing experience to perform for this kind of audience...and to be a member of this kind of audience. It must've been difficult for the band and the fans to keep their heads in the game in this setting.

I think they ended with IG at Jazzfest, but it wasn't planned that way...

My experience was probably somewhere between bbop's and timewasajoke's friend's. I definitely relate to what bbop is saying about bands playing in iconic venues. There is a certain level of expectation (not that we have any right to those) that it will be iconic. There is also the reality of being surrounded by people who are there for the venue rather than the band. The hardcore fans get diluted in a sea of musical tourists. There was definitely a higher than average proportion of talkers, texters and selfie aficionados than you see at your average venue. One random dude asked me during ALTW

That's what I was thinking, too. Whatever they decide to do, I'm along for the ride. Just happy to get to see them in such a small room.
