  1. ABSOLUTLEY SWEET MARIE AND SENOR!?!?!?!?! thats what i'm talking about!
  2. thank you for posting both of these. I finally got the chance to listen to it last night. I think I really enjoy the horns as a nice addition, they are not over bearing in the slightest. It would be a welcome addition to the studio version which i'm sure is going to be immaculate! Each version of Walken since they begining has become more tightly knit and better executed... me = excited
  3. Was wondering if some kind soul wouldnt mind posting the version of Walken (with the horn section)? I'd be very greatful to hear it. I was also wondering if there is any speculation of wether this is how the studio version will be? It doesn't strike me that wilco would randomly add horns to one of their songs. In the past which songs live have had horns added to them? "I'm The Man Who Loves You", and "Monday" jump immediatley to mind. Which both contain horns on the studio version....however I feel as if they have possibly performed "hummingbird" and "California Stars" with horns. If so my the
  4. I saw him in Septmeber (the last leng of the prior tour, before he played songs from Modern Times) and it was pretty amazing. He was really on! The song selection was somewhat contrived with a few interesting twists. The band is solid and all the crowds i've seen are really into the shows. I don't know if you've seen him before I've seen him 4 times since '99 and 3 of the shows were fantastic and 1 was lack luster. If you're a big Dylan fan you will leave the show feeling great, it's magic!!
  5. I saw Jenny Lewis last weekend and was intrigued because they played 4 or 5 new compositions that were absolutley fantastic. I'm wondering what's going to happen to it especially since Rilo Kiley is at work on a new studio album....one of her song possibly make it to another b-side if they choose to release another single? Will they be exiled to an EP? possibly live EP? internet download only? Scraped for the time being and saved for another solo album after the new rilo album...? speculation welcome...
  6. When pearl jam complied their greatest hits cd they remixed/remastered all the tracks coupled from "ten" i do believe...
  7. let me reinstate my position. I use to smoke 2 or 3 times a week if not more during the school year august - may, now that i'm out i've only been doing it a couple of times a month. Last weekend I smoked a little bit on a friday night and a on saturday night. I need a drug test for my job giving me roughly 2 weeks since I last smoked. I have been drinking about 8 bottles of water a day if not more, as well as ocasionally drinking green tea and yesterday and for the rest of the week I plan to run on the treadmill for 20 mins. I am 5'10 and about 215 pounds. Will this and this alone put me in th
  8. finally got to pick up van lear rose yesterday. I have to admit i'm totally in love with the album! can't get enough of "high on a mountain top". The only thing I find myself skipping over is "Little Red Shoes"...
  9. very excited about all the good buzz i've heard about it. thanks elixir sue for posting portland oregon, I've listened to it a few times and I can't get enough. I'm definatley going to pick up the album today or tomorrow. thank you
  10. thanks for everyone who submitted options I will have to review them all carefully. does anyone know about taking AZO pills (which apparently are b-12 pills you get right over the counter?) or a drink called Q-Carbo?
  11. as lame as some people may find this thread, I am looking for sturdy first hand accounts. I just applied to my first REAL post college job recently and not thinking the reaction time so quickly have already been called for a phone interview. I'm a regular weed smoker, 2 or 3 times a week (this summer living with my parents has reduced its frequency at large rate) and at a concert unthinkingly I smoked last weekend and put my resume in monday. i recieved a phone interview (today) thursday early evening (4:30 PM) my resume is getting passed on to the person in charge of hiring. so I don't th
  12. Been reading alot about this album and am very interested. I'm not too familiar with Miss Lynn myself I was wondering if some people would be kind enough to share their reactions. Could someone post "portland oregon" as well from the album? (or is that against regulations here?) my many thanks!
  13. does anyone know any background details of stephen malkmus? I'm interested if he studied to become an architect in college? Or is he just interested in it? I find it engaging that it comes up in 3 songs that I can think of off the top of my head. -Grave Architecture (From Wowee Zowee) -Fin (From Brighten The Corners): "Open call for prison architects" -The Hexx (From Terror Twilight): "Architecture students are like virgins with an itch they cannot scratch, Never build a building till you're 50 what kind of life is that?" anymore that I might have missed?
  14. Had Wowee Zowee in my car today actually... It kills me that it takes SO Long between each of these album reissue for their catalog...matador is taking its sweet little time to slowly bleed us!
  15. any chance for a re-upload? I somehow missed the first wave graciasssssssss!!
  16. a superior version of "Were Just Friends" and "Candy Floss" in my opinion...
  17. I was suppose to be at that show to pop my wilco cherry, but it sold out ::sigh::
  18. hahaha. or maybe they are waiting for jeff lynne to change his image....
  19. for those who have heard it...tell me if there is humor. The word that keeps getting tossed around is apocalyptic. Is it as funny as love and theft? or is it that dark kind of humor found on time out of mind? or is it a mix of both?
  20. hehehe. "2. Go eat some quim you fucking quim." hillarious!
  21. how exciting to hear first impressions. I'm a big fan of love and theft so this sounds wonderful. Although I am holding out till tuesday till it comes out here (week from today!) I waited 5 years, holding out another 7 days of eagerness won't kill me.... all praise be to bobby!
  22. is that the thanks I get, is definatley 70's!
  23. 15 - 20% all from my formative earyl teen years. I was real into the wu-tang clan the most (including each of the individual rappers from the group), all the older death row label members (dr. dre, snoop, tupac) Nas, Biggie, Beastie Boys...
