The first real concert I ever attended was Yes (in the round) at the International Amphitheater in Chicago in 1977. I saw them again in Champaign in around 1979. Loved Yes in the 70's then quickly moved on and grew out of them. Chris Squire was an incredible musician. RIP.

I've enjoyed reading the responses to the question posed in this thread. I'm 56 years old (how the heck did that happen?!) and I can honestly say that my love of music is as strong as ever. A lot of my contemporaries bitch about music "not being as good as it used to be" and I disagree strongly with that sentiment. There's so much great new music being made today -- it just takes a bit more effort to find it. How about a "biography" about a music label? I just finished Our Noise which is the story of Merge Records, one of the greatest indie labels -- started and run by Laura and Mac from Superchunk. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
