  1. Needs a long rest. I found it awesome in 2011 when it was new to me, but after hearing it multiple times I came to the conclusion that it's not really much of a song, and the initial enthusiasm the band had for playing it had dissipated somewhat.
  2. 4 groups 1 YHF=ST= AGIB (varies) 4 SBS 5 BT 6 WTA=TWL (they kind of merge for me) 8 SW 9 AM 10 SCH=OTJ (OTJ up half a place after a few listens)
  3. Songs came across pretty well live (Tues in Toronto). Went back to the album and it still seems something of an ordeal to get through. I have said this before, Wilco should do an album of new songs performed live (like Neil Young has done in the past), not sure the studio has helped them on the last few releases.
  4. Eveybody was stood up in the 100 sections. Some crazy dancing going on too. Awesome show! Think he said "There won't be many more"
  5. From the (excellent) feature in Uncut, Jeff says "Rock music has become boring to me" and "Nobody needs new Wilco music".
  6. Joy that a new Wilco album has been released, this has turned to disappointment (albeit after 1 listening). This is really "Warmest" or "Hot". It isn't really a Wilco album and I would say it is the weakest of the 3 albums.
  7. Not sure it does mean that, the thrust of the review is more about the political aspect of Nebraska. It was an album of demos featuring only one musician (Bruce), I don't expect the new album to sound like that.
  8. Aaron Draplin https://wilcostore.com/collections/new-items/products/wilco-x-field-notes-box-set?variant=15334161514531
  9. But depends where you bought the vinyl I guess. Where did you?
  10. He tries to write a song a day. That's a lot of songs!
  11. Jeff says in his book that he does demos with Spencer and then Glenn comes in and adds his own drum pattern. That would suggest the songs are pretty much finished before the rest of the band gets involved. Certainly could explain the relative lack of variation since Sukierae in Tweedy/Jeff Tweedy/Wilco releases.
  12. You should start with Kicking Television of course. Brilliant live album.
  13. Official releases rather than "leaks". It may be streamable in full, but that takes away from their Spotify, Apple Music etc income in official release week. The shows will sell out anyway, so it makes no difference whether they play new music at them or not. In fact some fans may well prefer them not to play the new stuff.
  14. But Star Wars wasn't a leak. It was a surprise immediate availability. There had been no announcement of a release date for the physical version until that happened. The new album will be released in all formats on Oct 4th, only then will it be available to stream in full is what I think. There may be 1 or 2 other songs released in advance of that though.
  15. What are "Autobahn" songs. Ones influenced by Kraftwerk?
  16. Certainly for YHF and Star Wars they weren't "pre-released", just released in download or streaming form. I see no reason that they would announce a release date then scupper that by pre-releasing it early.
  17. Not sure why they would do that. It's announced as coming out in Oct, they will no doubt play a few songs from it in Sept, then many more after release (maybe all of it from start to finish)
  18. I am curious why anyone would expect WIlco not to do a version of it? The first version isn't by them so it is pretty obvious they will re-record it I would suggest.
  19. I have had digital releases of both albums for a while, just needed some basic computing skills when they were being streamed on the website (of course I had previously bought both albums on vinyl)
  20. I probably would have said "Side with the Seeds" (and they played it!). Love Sky Blue Sky.
  21. Was a wonderful experience except for one thing, staying in MCLA dorms. I expected basic accomodation, but not that basic. Anybody else stay there? Am thinking of sending a complaint. For what it cost, it was basically a rip off. Ok at $50-60 a night, but not more than double that.
  22. Cate le Bon was also excellent. Anyone who missed that also missed Jeff joining her for a couple of songs including The Kinks' Strangers. Wonderful!
  23. Rushed to buy a ticket without checking my schedule. Just a single in front section: Wilco at Budweiser Stage Section 101 Row K $115.50 all in Send a DM if you want it. Paypal and I will transfer within Ticketmaster.
