  1. It makes me really sad that because of the way our country is run, there is no gray area. Everything has to be black or white, or else your opinion doesn't matter...
  2. Thats mostly my problem with most of the political discussion that happens, on both sides. We attack the person making the argument instead of the actual argument. Or we disagree with everything someone says simply because they align with a different party. And for being the party of open mindedness, I see a lot of outright dismissal of ideas by democrats. I'm not sure what, if any, political party I would align myself with, but right now, I know it wouldn't be the democrats or the republicans, and that's not going to change until we realize not every issue has a yes or no response.
  3. God damned 13 year olds need to stop playing soccer and get to picking strawberries, god damn it.
  4. I could care less about his politics, but he's one of the few people here who has a level head and actually takes the time to debate specific points with people. He gets shit on by 90% of the board because "omg republicanz" but he's probably the main reason we achieve anything close to intelligent discourse on this board when it comes to politics, and I'm guilty of it as well.
  5. That doesn't look like a jury of his peers. I don't think he's going to get a fair trial.
  6. Everytime I go into a season with high expectations for the Dolphins, we suck, so I fully expect a 2-14 season. Which means they'll win 11 games.
  7. I'm pretty sure most of the people on this board couldn't even write a song as good as "Mmmbop". Does that mean none of us can discuss anything?
  8. I don't really care about Castillo being a Met, though. Much worse than Conine is a met.
  9. As the Mets Troll on the Marlins board made sure we knew.
  10. Buy the cd of the artist you enjoy, or don't. Download them both if you want, or don't. If you enjoy 50's music, buy it. If you enjoy Kanye's buy it.
  11. I was just saying the Mets seem to be targeting former Marlins almost exclusively in the last 2 offseasons.
  12. Huh? Castillo wasn't developed there? He was the very first player the Marlins ever signed. Conine had 111 ML at bats with the Royals before becoming an all star with the Marlins. The Marlins have developed a ton of great talent, that is one thing you cannot take away from that franchise. Say what you will about their ownership, fanbase, etc. but out minor league's have always been some of the best in the majors.
  13. I understand what you are saying, but I just feel like there was a bit too much hype for Modern Times. I listened to it a few times, and it wasn't much to write home about, and yet it was being talked about like it was a masterpiece. I just didn't care for it, and I thought it was more a product of it not being awful, and people having low expectations. Or not low expectations, but ratherbeing much more forgivable of it's flaws. If he released Modern Times in 1965, it would've been panned.
  14. The Mets announced they have officially changed their name to the "Florida Marlins of Queens" to coincide with this. Sucks that "Mr. Marlin" has been a Phillie and a Met now in the past 2 years. Not his fault, it's been trades, but still. It's just not right.
  15. On a related note, this is something I've been struggling with a for a while, mostly because I've been listening to a lot of Common lately. Sometimes I have a hard time reconciling the fact that I love hip hop and the fact that numerous hip hop artists seem to not think too kindly of me (or more precisely, the group of people I happen to have been born into). In most forms of music, it's not too hard to seperate what a singer says and what he actually feels, because most of the time, it isn't autobiographical, but with hip hop, it's not the same thing. When Kanye says "and the white man
  16. Are we still calling Life During War a masterpiece, or did we stop that?
