  1. Passed away from brain cancer. He was a phenomenal keyboard player. He will be missed. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/nick-cave-the-bad-seeds-pianist-conway-savage-dead-at-58-718568/
  2. Saw the Foo Fighters last night & sadly wasn't too impressed. It had been a real long time since I'd seen them. It was the Dave & Taylor show. Rest of the band seemed a bit disengaged. As a guitar player, Dave is an excellent drummer. Krist Novoselic's new band was opener 1 & were horrible. A friend said it was what she imagines the Manson family would've sounded like if they had recorded an album in the 60s. Krist did come out with the Foos for a rousing version of "Molly's Lips". Highlight of the show for me. The second opener was the Joy Formidable. I liked them a real lot &

  6. scored some good tix for Echo & the Bunnymen in November. have never seen them.
  7. on the opposite end of the spectrum: at the Pearl Jam show Friday, Eddie Vedder came out solo for first encore & did "I Won't Back Down". Asked everyone to hold their phones up. All of Safeco Field was lit up by 40000 + phones. It looked awesome. Pretty sure there is video up youtube of it.
  8. don't bring your phone, jack won't like it!
  9. the man can definitely play
  10. cool, stay in touch. i have a friend from vancouver who is coming down for both of those shows, too. i used to travel for shows but its tough nowadays. there's a few that i would do it for if i could.

  17. seeing them early september. looking forward to it. this band is working hard!
  18. Looking forward to night 2 @ Safeco Field. Only bummer is have to miss a free Afghan Whigs show as part of the Sub Pop 30th anniversary celebration. The day after is a huge free show at the beach with a bunch of cool bands (Beach House: yes!). Wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of Pearl Jam affiliated appearance there. The 25th anniversary, Soundgarden played unannounced.
  19. so good to have a good news story for a change. RIP for the rescuer who died.
  20. what can i say? buddy is still the man!
  21. after much trouble i got first balcony tix for seattle. evidently bob seger tix went on sale at the same time & ticketbastard kept crashing. interesting, the venue is all seated but the show was GA by tier (floor, 1st balcony, 2nd balcony). luckily, they had a caveat about ADA seating. supposed to talk to the venue staff on arrival & they will seat me in a roped off section. should be ok. bad things going on with me & mobility & sadly i can't go to shows without ADA seating.
