Wow, never even heard about that. Would be interested in hearing the show if it surfaces. I really enjoyed the CRB show I saw here.

I actually agree with you: term limits would be unnecessary if the utter dysfunction were changed. That being said, there is something to what Jefferson wrote about people returning to the masses and being "the governed" instead of the governor. Having an asshat as your rep for 30 years is pretty ridiculous, especially when he or she is often reelected mainly out of the familiarity of the surname. As an old friend of mine recently observed, "People, in general, are dumb." Personally, I wish more reps would learn to "think local, act global" when it comes to their votes. There is such a paroc

Awesome! Thanks.

Posted on Wilco's Facebook page today. Guess ol' Bob broke this out last night. http://

I think term limits would be a great thing. Eight years on the long side, four years on the short. I'm thinking six would be a good max for Congress.

I'll be catching the 4/30 show at The Mahaffey, so I'll be looking for some reviews from you guys before then!

Well, Gregg married Cher, so what does that tell you?

Yep, it's government by brinksmanship. Both sides are at fault here, though, being a Dem, I blame the Republicans more. Naturally, they blame the Dems more. Hope they can quit this BS, but it seems like a toxic sort of game that will keep going on and on...

I am not actually familiar with the various AB lineups...just posted that in case folks on here wanted to know.

Definitely Swordfishtrombones.

Agreed. Whereas Nels is probably more sonically adventurous, and more actually skilled as a guitar player - especially in terms of speed - I enjoyed what J.B. brought to the band more...not just his guitar playing but his harmony vocals, keyboards, and the "foil" he seemed to present to J.T. in the studio. That's not to say I minded the gap, when Jeff himself was providing the lead guitar role, as that is ironically my favorite period of Wilco for live performances. But once Nels came in, the Wilco I loved from 1999-2003 (and even before, through the magic of recording) was ultimately replac

I care about it too. And I agree they are the most dysfunctional group ever. They make the '94 "revolution" people look like reasonable adults. Apparently, there was no lesson learned from the 2012 election. They are basing their approach on the 2010 election, meaning, Let's obstruct as much as possible and continue to demonize the President in the hopes that we can replicate 2010 in 2014. Sick bastards, and unpatriotic to boot. Screw 'em all.

Another one of my favorite Bob moments!

It's that fucking Buddha's fault.

I can get behind the idea that you shouldn't record full songs, for sure. It's annoying to me when people do it, as it takes at least a few minutes, whatever the duration of the song is...obviously, the longer the song, the more annoying that screen glow becomes. But taking photos? I can't see that as being a problem. I take probably ten to twenty photos at every show I go to, if I can get away with it (unless I am ridiculously close, in which case I don't want to incur the wrath of the artist.) Taking a few photos is not that intrusive, especially if they are spread out over the duration of a

Last time I checked, we still had a large enough nuclear arsenal to blow up the entire planet several times over. Have I missed something? As for our ongoing spending, i8music is right: we spend 700 billion to China's 120 billion. It is bloated. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/06/defense-spending-fact-of-the-day_n_1746685.html

It really is a shame. I only got to see them once, and that was in the late '90s or maybe 2000. I was just getting familiar with their songs, so I didn't know all the words. I wanted to see them again but never had the chance. Traveling to MS for a show is a little out of my reach at this point. And they just came up on my iTunes as I type this. Whoa...weird.

"Pterodactyl mating call" I was always more of a Jerry fanatic than a Bobby fanatic, but I like almost of all his contributions to the band. For me, in the latter years of the band when Jerry was really fading (the time I refer to as his "dying sea cow" vocals...hmm, kinda like pterodactyl mating call...), Bobby really carried that band. Even when Jerry was on, Bob's vocal parts were so solid throughout the '80s and '90s. I especially love his covers of Desolation Row. Superb! I was listening to my iPod on "shuffle" mode in the car today, and Friend of the Devil came up. Brought a big smi

Thanks for the encouragement. Of course, no one is forcing me to watch it, but still.... Season 2 gets a little better when they finally bring the old gang (mostly) back together, but it's kind of a slog for the first 6 or so episodes. Kinda surprised it made it to season 3.

You don't. You learn to live and let live. Walk gently on Mother Earth.

There is for me. Even Emmylou Harris, who I absolutely love, has quite a few songs in her back catalogue that I just can't stomach. But then, I'm from New England, where we grew up making fun of this stuff, so it's amazing to me how much I have been able to get into people like Townes, Johnny Cash, or any of the older country types.I'm glad if people dig it, though. It's always great to get new music from an artist you enjoy!

Wow, that is waaaaaay too country for my taste. Maybe it was a mistake on my part to pause Muddy Waters' One More Mile to give it a listen, but I couldn't make it past the 2-minute mark. I really think I've gotten to the point where I can only tolerate Jay when he's at least trying to rock out.

Coolest/most-interesting post-music careers
Mr. Heartbreak replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
God, that line must have taken on a whole 'nother meaning after he posed for a gay porn mag. The funny thing is, Wiki goes on to clarify that all of Warren's sexual material was of a heterosexual nature....It's just that they thought he was a good subject for gay men to ogle. Freakish! -
