  1. This one's been happily bouncing around in my head for a week now.
  2. Huh, I hadn't noticed that. Damn, I don't think I like that either! Whole Love and One Sunday Morning are a great pair. Oh well.
  3. This makes me want to hear George Martin's voice in Poor Places now. "Yankee...Hotel...Foxtrot..."
  4. Heard her interviewed on Morning Edition today. She seems bright and thoughtful and genuine. Gonna give this record another shot - didn't really take for me first go 'round.
  5. He doesn't hope it's sunny at all in that song. Nor does he hope "you love me." The song is about acceptance, not longing.
  6. I love Capitol City, and it makes me think of the show Boardwalk Empire (even though I've only seen one episode of it).
  7. Tweedy mentions the reasoning for that tracklisting in a new interview (thread is near the top in this forum, he says it was to avoid a really short 4th side I think) - though I didn't realize that meant a song comes after One Sunday Morning. Don't like that idea at all right now - One Sunday Morning is such a perfect ending. Hmm.
  8. So not true. Would I spend as much time as I do haranguing you about stuff if I thought that?
  9. Only if you think of it/have the free time. Thanks for offering either way. I listened to the shit out of that back then.
  10. u2roolz, do you happen to know about/have that radio broadcast circa ZooTV (my brain's foggy on the specifics - my brother sent me a cassette of it taped off the radio back in 92-93). It was interview/live stuff/goofy shit (I recall in particular a moment with Bono begging to be let inside, knocking on a door yelling "I'm the LV! Lead singer, let me in!").
  11. Yeah, I'm worried that looks like those five minutes of VH1 Behind the Music dragged out interminably. We get it, you had nothing going on until 'One' came along. I'm sorry but, isn't that how record making goes? You write songs, and eventually you have an album. Let's hear more about The Fly.
  12. Ha, I actually thought of Thirteen when I chose California Stars, debating whether CS counts.
  13. My list is ridiculous for not including A Magazine Called Sunset.
  14. So you agree your original statement was perhaps misguided and ignorant?
  15. I met Mike D once and came away from it with his line from Paul's Boutique in my head: "I'm so high that they call me Your Highness so if you don't know me then pardon my shyness."
  16. You Are My Face Not For The Season Kamera When You Wake Up Feeling Old I Must Be High Theologians One Sunday Morning (For Jane Smiley's Boyfriend) Jesus, etc. Outta Mind (Outta Sight) California Stars
  17. Yup. Whole Love probably will end up being my favorite song on this lyrically.
